Going to make my own CD collection Full PM-box? Change here!

I'm going to change PCs and while I was at it I thought I would burn a few CDs into a perm collection of the Best of the Best of MGE. Trouble is many of those on my hard disk might not be the latest version.

Please make suggestions (only stuff that is good by today's standards, not classics which were good five years ago) as to what to include, please also confirm the version number and hwere it can be downloaded (yes please suggest your own scenarios by all means).

Was there a second version of Bitterfrost or was that only for TOT?

Was there a version 2 of Herbstnebel?

Was there ever a second version of Historibus Europae?

Is everything at the Spanish Civ BestoNet the latest version?

de Historibus Europae... Well I did start to make a second version but I never finnished that. I don't play or work with civ as much these days so I doubt there'll be another version. Which is a shame as I had some nice ideas for it... Oh well
Latest version should be the one available at the spanish site (which if I'm not misstaken would be the only version ever released apart from the playtest versions).

Bitterfrost has one version on MGE, and one for ToT that has been redesigned and is now under development.

The current version is available on the SL pages, CDG and perhaps on the Spanish civ site.

PS
Check my sig for any other civ2 stuff from me.

Might I suggest adding my "How Few Remain" to the list if you haven't tried it already.

It was generally well accepted - about the only complaint I had was that it was too easy.

If you're going to include bk1941, I would like to see bk1936 v2 and bk1942 as well, as they are both big imporvements of 41

Glad to see La Belle Epoque as well there

And may I also humbly suggest "The Norwegian Campaign"? And what about your very own super innovative "Battlefield Chess"?

There's a minor update coming for Hammer v2 (soon - will be v2.7)- the latest version of The Spanish Armada is v1.4 and can be found in the link to CDG in my signature.

BKA's A World At War is also updated to v1.2, and available at CivFan (BKA's thread in the SC forum, if not yet in the downloads).

You might want to add also Bernd Brosings Cross and Crescent btw

I went to check it out again and now I remember why I never liked it.

Standard Civ2 terrain/cities. no sound. I'm sure it was wonderful if you read all the tuttle books (I only read the first of the series to do with the lizard invasion during WWII) and could identify with the geopolitics but for me its a tad plain.

I found some other gems at the civfan scifi collection not too often mentioned. Recommend you guys try some of them out.

Aliens - LV426 Colony
Jumpship trooper
Sagan Earth 3000
Mill004
Star Contact 1 - Star Wars
Star Contact 2 - Star Wars vs Star Trek (really fantastic graphics)

also thought of Crisis of a new world order for my collection

Are you sure you have the right one? Our_Man released his version of 'How Few Remain' a couple of months a go in a thread here, and it has non-standard (and very nice IMHO) terrain. IIRC there is a less well-done Turtledove scenario available at CivFan downloads section which contains standard civ terrain - maybe you're confusing the two (?)

I've located both HFR and the Norwegian campaign.

I didn't include Battlefield Chess cause it wasn't that well received I think. Did you actually play it - I mean the FOrtress Konigsburg scenario that came with it?

Sure I did play it, with the Königsberg scen that came with it. A fresh breath to all the other scens on the market, very unorthodox. More like a whole new game. I liked it a lot. It had many interesting features. One of the most innovative scens I've seen to this date, but it was maybe a bit too complicated for the common civ2 man, but great for real life generals . All you "couch generals" out there should give it a go anyway!

I was quite happy with it myself. It was the first time I used odd/even AI cities to give location names (can't remember who thought of this idea) and when I created hill and mountain terrain with contour lines. First time I included a control panel to control reinforcements.

So did you manage to rescue enough civillians before the dockyard fell?

maybe I will include it in my collection after all. thanks.
