	Rumble In The Jungle PBEM Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

(aka the Paddy PBEM)

The first turn is off and running to Paddy.

I'm not entirely sure how I got in this one, but I certainly belong in a "jungle" PBEM game.... seeing as I have a knack for getting handed jungle starting locations by the RMG.

In fact, you're lucky I even noticed this thread at all... how DID I end up in this game, anyhow? Was this some PBEM I signed up for ages ago and it's taken so long to start it that I completely forgot?

I'm not sure either - but I did it. I think it was because you posted first in reply to the PBEM with Paddy thread - and although it was clear that you weren't suggesting that you were not in a game with Paddy (if that makes sense), when I zipped back to put the player list together I saw your avatar and put you on the list.

But c'mon Arne - this is going to be a good game! A right rumble in the jungle, my friend.

There were a set number of nations to choose from and I picked each out of a hat. You got the special one, the masai (religious/commercial with a hoplite UU).

For a long time Sky Spirit looked down upon the world. He wanted to find the most beautiful spot in all his creation. There he would place a great nation and surrounded by his majesty they would sing his praises all day. He had already been looking for a long time though and it was getting late, so he decided to take a break.

He found a spot that wasn't exactly beautifil, but handsom...in a way, and instead of a great nation he made only a small tribe...to prepare him a meal. The meal was filling and so Sky Spirit made another tribe. This time to gather twigs for his bed. Oh, and one more to sing his praises while he slept.

In the morning when it came time to go the people were sad, for to serve him was there purpose. Sky Spirit took pitty on his people and left them with one more gift. He made a very small tribe of very rich aristocrats for the people to serve in his absence, but the people did not seem to appreciate this gift. Sky Spirit grew angry and so decided to bless them one more time. He made a band of brutal lawgivers to remind the people to sing his praises everyday.

Sky Spirit was not very good with "good-byes" so he told the people that he may return at any momemt, and then went back to his search.

Would someone please advise which civs 1889 and Arnelos are playing? It would have been nice to have known rather than to have had to guess their starting techs before making a research decision

From the other thread, when the game was being set up, and the later post by Rhoth which assigned the civs. Th PBEM with Paddy thread had been somewhat chaotic (as evidenced by Arnelos being in the game ), so I can appreciate how you may have missed it. Sorry.
