Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Sace is with CDG. Next is PAL, who are quite efficient, and then us. So, I thought it prudent to get some orders up for then, at least.

Military Orders
(warriors)
Roadkill: Remain fortified as sentry.
Anthea: Heal.
Grog: 3? - Moves us away from PAL and towards unknown volcanic lands.
Ares: Remain fortified as sentry.
Con: MP in NA
Diomedes: MP in PH to be replaced the following turn by Jason so Diomedes can go get some combat experience? see Alcaeus order ideas[b]
Jason: MP in poly [b] 3-3 to replace Diomedes in Poseidon's Harbour in order that Diomedes is free for some combat experience? see Alcaeus order ideas

Odysseus: MP in Hypnos
Achilles: MP in Stable
Chimera: 6?

(hoplite)
Bellerophan: 6 - moves away from the West coast so barbs can spawn - heads for Stable of Hermes to be closer for when the action begins?
Theseus: MP in Olympus
Ajax: Fortify(protect workers!)
Hopity:MP in Hypnos?[b]
Pig Sticker: [b]MP in Apolyton? - see Alcaus (Archer) order idea

(archers)
Phobos II: dependent on PAL, CDG movements, but 1 or 2 if possible, else 4?[b]
Zeno: [b]8, moves to take on the barb camp to the NW

Alcaeus: 3, 6 fortify in Apolyton? This also allows for more uncovered terrain for barbs to spawn in. Jason or Pig Sticker could move to Poseidon's Harbour to replace Diomedes as MP, and Diomedes back to Apolyton for the possibility of promotion in a later barb attack. Warrior Jason is already a vet and there is no point in hoping to promote him further when there are Reg Warriors around like Diomedes.

Worker Orders

#1 Roads-R-Us – road
#2 Fred & Barny - Continue Mine
#3 Oppressed Laborers – continue irrigate
#4 Bonehed (slave from PAL) - cont. road
#5 Woodchuck - cont mine.

City Orders

#1 Apolyton – wf 4-8-12-18. Looks like it should stay at this as we are on track for growth and a settler in 3 turns. We can shift things around for one turn of fewer shields sometime, so we could give Hypnos a go then. Building Settler.

#2Hypnos builds Worker this turn and down to pop 3. GK says Horse next. Therefore either 2, 8, 19 for +1fpt and 6spt (pop 4 in 11 turns, Horse in 5 turns) or 3, 8, 19 for +2fpt and 4spt ( pop 4 in 6 turns, Horse in 7+ turns) I'd go for the faster Horse myself, There will be a reduction in Poly's pop in 3 more turns, so we may be able to pick up a better tile then for a few turns.

#3 Poseidon's Harbor - wf 1-7 - archer (done in 5), currach, hoplite, sword, sword
#4 Naked Aphrodite - wf 1-2-19 - hoplite (done in 2), archer, sword
#5 Olympus - wf 1-6 – worker (done in 3), granary, settler
#6 Stable of Hermes– wf 16 (oasis) – curragh (done in 3), to be determined....or start on zeus?

That's all I can see.

Well CDG has moved South with their settler - looks like they're going for the coast, where we can easily get a road! See too that PAL is nosing around with their warrior, just as Grog is poking about their cities.

And in the west another barb spawned from that camp Archer Zeno is heading for. We could keep Zeno where he is this turn and attack the warrior when it moves SE next turn, OR, continue Zeno North (8) and just fortify Hoplite Ajax with the workers, and wait for the barb to brain itself on him (attack 1 vs defense of 4.8 when fortified - better than the 2 vs 1.1 odds of attacking with Archer Zeno), and we may get Ajax promoted.

Otherwise all looks fine with no surprises.

I'd play the turn right now if I could.

Sorry about the delay; our backup turnplayer dropped the ball.

There is a barbarian camp north of Meeting Mountain that we're going to allow to remain for recruitment purposes - we'll keep it under control, we promise.

Also, a long time ago you all mentioned a siege road towards CDG - has anything become of that?

Good luck.

We also have not answered this from the 8-28 save:

quote:
Here is the save, gentlemen, and an answer to Con's questions.

I'm not sure if I'm clear on the total city count for CDG:

The capital, Minnesota, Sven Fjord, Reykjavik is what we see. Is there another you know about that we don't?

We concur with your analysis of the tech situation; we were unable to lure CDG off Mapmaking, but they don't have it yet.

Currently there are quite a few units by the ivory; we have a few by our new city of Pumpkinland, and there is a spear in Sven Fjord, as well as a pair of warriors spread north of it.

We will be sending a road out of Pumpkinland towards you - west and then southwest - so we were planning on using the gold hill and mountain W,SW from Meeting Mountain in order to watch for barbs. Are there any around that you know of right now?

Cobra is on a mapping expedition like your own, partially for lack of a better thing to do, and partially to speed up the process of sorting our areas of land concern.

Our preparations for the date (T-minus 21 turns by our count?) continue well, and we see you've secured a lil' something of your own recently. Horses of the Gods indeed!

Here is the save, and good luck in your ventures.

I really don't know about the legality of this. And I doubt the team would be too happy with you offering the Consulship to someone who they turned down thrice.

But thanks for the thought, at least.

Please.

Stop milking the martyr thing, it's old and no one except you cares about those past elections.

What we care about are getting responsible people who are civ-knowledgeable and willing to dedicate time and effort to helping this team succeed.

If you want to help us, then help us. Don't beat around the bush, give orders and suggestions, and they shy away at the invitation to become officially a part of the team's leadership.

If you believe in yourself, step up to the plate and take responsibility.

Well I'm sorry but I was pretty enthused about things even through two defeats. Three in a row hit me harder though. And I no longer expect to be available much in November, when this latest Consulship goes to. The previous three-six months were fine, so that's unlucky too.

And for all the posted support there was, I was declined thrice. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but that suggests to me that the lurkers vote me down as a Consul. Well, that's fine, but until I see evidence that this is no longer the case, why should I disappoint myself again?
