I want to be friendly but I dont want to give them too much information.

And if we do any disinformation we need to record it and stick to our story.

Lord knows that has been our weakness thus far

	Increase Your PM Length

Talk up the settlement issue with them. Mostly stick to our concerns about having cities too close together and feel them out for other city placement plans.

Ask about road networks. Talk up the luxury trade.

Ask about PAL and the cities to the north.

Ask about Ivory ... are they willing to let us build Zeus?

Approach things as LONG TERM interests, imagine a future where we are buddies with CDG long into the middle ages. Act as if that is what we are planning for.

DO NOT:
Bring up the tech issues. Let them push it. Let them know we're on Currency and any tech trades they propose, we'll bring them back to the team to discuss. Make them do the heavy work to get any future tech deals done.

Mention our NAP with them that expired. Do not talk up alliances, etc. Don't even come close to it. Don't even talk about military at all.

Try to push them to build a road network. We don't want to act suspicious. Asking for a road network can often backfire, making the other team become very cautious towards you and your proposal. When it's mentioned, focus on our interest in FURS and getting a 3rd luxury (which, as we all know, is doubled with marketplace).

I can be available at 6 PM EST on Wed for a chat with CDG.

I think talk of an alliance with CDG is something we ought to consider. Not an actual alliance, but at least talk of it. CDG would have to be stupid to think that all 3 Civ's will be peacful to one another for the duration of the game and that the other two Civ's will kill each other! Even if one Div does come out on top over there we still have one Civ that needs to depart this game. CDG will not buy it. Would we?

So, let us mention something about it. Say that we have been weighing our options for many turns now but that we feel PAL is getting to "big" up there and that CDG and us would make great allies in stopping PAL's growth. We mention what a shame it was we could not work together that much in the ISDG and that now would be a good time for us to do so. We say that we knew we had to pick a side before either CDG or PAL got together to go after us.

At least that's my take on it.

Two things.

I would not bring up the NAP unless they do, I dont want to be placed in the situation of saying "No", when we are less than 20 turns from T-Turn . The last time we agreed to a 20 turn NAP, anything less than that would look suspicious.

Dont bring up alliances either unless they push it. If they do bring it up then tell them we have been thinking about it but do not have a team consensus yet. Again, I dont want to get backed into a corner where we have to say : NO.

The buck needs to stop somewhere.

Our ambassadors are not active enough and are not sending messages to other teams, so we need to stop expecting them to do it.

Next in line is the conmcb25. We need to know if conmcb25 can send messages or not in a timely fashion. We need him to tell us.

If he cannot, then I propose that whoever CDG originally contacted be the one to contact them back. In this case, they chatted with OctX, he posted the log, and he should follow up on the matter to ensure that if no one else handles it, he does.

And if he doesn't do it, then I'll do it or anyone else on our team can do it. Frankly, if the ambassadors, ministers, and Consuls don't follow up on things like this, then we're not doing our job and the members of the team should feel free to smack us around and get the job done in our place.
