	OMFG!!! ABC and CBS PWN Bush!!! Put an end to popups!

Tonight on World News Tonight Peter Jennings showed documents obtained by an Freedom of Information Act request showing that the Pentagon has no documentation that Bush showed up at all for his Alabama duty. Further, when Bush was discharged from the TANG, he signed a document stating he would enlist with a local Air Force Reserver (maybe ANG) unit where ever he was going (Massachuesetts). Bush never enlisted when he got to MA, but the Pentagon claims he didn't need to because he was enlisted with a unit in Denver.

Meanwhile, on CBS's 60 Minutes: Wednesday, documents obtained from Bush's former commander include one titled, "CYA" (Cover Your Ass for the clueless). The gist of the document was that he was being ordered to sugar over Bush's failure to meet TANG standards, including disobeying a direct order to report for a physical. Another document from this same commander reports that he has recieved no confirmation from AANG that Bush even contacted them.

Someone's in trouble.

You should have watched Lehrer. Two ex-military men, one of whom was a general, and both of whom are academics who contract for the Department of Defence pointed out that the insurgency has built huge momentum (the increase in number of attacks is staggering) and that the administration's only plan is to try and get Iraq out of the headlines.

Apparently it's working, there were 250,000 press articles a day on Iraq a couple of months back and only 150,000 now.

That's because responsible news organizations don't repeat allegations without proof. Nor did they smeer those vets, but simply let them impeach their own credibility.

CBS mentioned that the records show Bush was an outstanding pilot. That's something I didn't know. However, Bush failed to show up for mandatory pilot training in '72, the same year he didn't show up for his physical and was disqualified from flying. In both cases, he disobeyed a direct order.

Given the CYA document, it's clear the only reason Bush got an honorable discharge is due to his political connections.

...did anyone see that thing where Fox was running a special on porn. There was a huge picture behind the reporter of a porn scene. To protect the public they fuzzed out the woman's breast.

A pity they forgot to fuzz out the huge penis that was ramming into her.

Priceless.....

But what kind of story is this? The story is that there is no documentary proof that Bush reported here or there or anywhere. What does this prove? Does Bush have the burden of proof here? Is he guilty until he proves himself innocent?

In the Kerry story, there is significant amount of evidence produced to demonstrate that Kerry was lying. And yet, the major networks do not report the substance of the Swiftboat veterans charges. They assume that Kerry is innocent until proven guilty.

There is a different standard for Democrats than for Republicans among the major media -- which stinks.

I hope he does too because it would be a mistake Kerry brought all that Vietnam mess on himself. It's all they talked about at their convention. He has all these people that dislike bush but he is bound and determined to **** it up by talking about **** that people obviously don't care about. Well... he is... your point?

But seriously, if Kerry wants to appear tough, he needs to attack on the issues... and not military records. If he goes down that route, his own military problems won't go away... and he was the first one to whine about how it shouldn't be the issue. If he attacks back personally on this issue, he will look like a little kid.

Again... he should prove he is tough by attacking Bush on his record in office... which shouldn't be too tough

Absolutely. He needs to take a page from Karl Rove's book, "Attack your oponent where he's strong, the public already knows his weaknesses" This means he has to go after Bush on Iraq and the War on Terror. Let the media and others do the sniping at on the chicken hawk issue.
