Actually, my problem was caused by the removal of Trip, Rommel names his saves differently.

This reminds me of an idea I had a while ago - I was going to write a client that manages PBEMs (inlcuding sending out saves) Do you guys think that would be worthwhile?

Moonbars, that would be amazing. I'd offer to help, but my programming experience is entirely back-end, and that doesn't tend to be the hard part. I don't doubt you could make quite a buck putting it out as a share-ware or even donation-ware item here.

Guys.

My C3C install has become corrupt. I've tried a few things to fix it, but it looks like I need to re-install. Sadly, I have left my original C3 CD at my parents where I was playing from over christmas, just reinstalling conquests is not cutting it

Unless anybody can help me solve the following, I am out of action for a few days.

Crashes with a page fault after playing intro movies. Will not go back to desktop, hangs on a black screen. You have to press start button to bring up taskbar and alt-f4 the game icon a few times. Have tried re-installing 1.20 and 1,22 patches, but same problem. Also tried system restore (!)

OK! Moonbars is back in action. I noted in the crash info that it was bombing out when accessing a file called "mp3des.asi" which I simply deleted, and the game started fine. No sound however

Sounds like you have the dreaded "sound-crash-bug"... where if I recall correctly the game incorrectly interprets the sound files (mp3s i think) and then gives up while conversing with your sound card (which has WAY too much control over your system, imho, but it's how windows was constructed since the beginning - anyone else remember win 3.1(1) sound related crashes dominating game bug reports for years?

I paid a one-time fee of $15 for my fastmail account almost two years ago. I always recieve turns before the turn notification from Poly reaches me. Haven't heard any other problems with my outgoing mail. It's definitely worth looking for an inexpensive email service rather than wasting time with all those free BS accounts...

That turn was sent at 9:30PM Poly time (2:30 BST?), an hour-and-a-half before my slot began. It had arrived at 2PM EST, 2 hours after the end of my slot.

I actually only posted to show I was checking in for my morning slot.

Um, that post was made 7 minutes after yours because I was crunching time zone numbers trying to figure out if your '3:20 am' meant my email was getting hung up or what. All I can say is that I got my save after the end of one of my slots and sent it before the beginning of my next slot. Last turn was 1870, which you have since sent on to s/b.

AH, no problem

Easy way to do timezones.. (assuming u are on a windows PC)

Right click your clock. Goto Adjust date/time

Cylce the timezone setting from yours to mine. press apply. Look at time. Revert back to your time zone. Press OK.

Easier way to do time zones ...

Look at 'Poly time next to your name (assuming you set it right, but most do)
