Re: Turn 75, 1150bc Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Here are some preliminary ideas in case the orders aren't in in time.

Military Orders
(warriors)
Roadkill: Remain fortified as sentry.
Anthea: healing for the last turn
Grog: 2
Ares: Remain fortified as sentry.
Con: MP in NA - 8-4-4 towards the Barb areas of the West to gain experience? MP duties will be taken over by Hoplite Pig Sticker or new Hoplite this turn
Diomedes: MP in PH
Jason: MP in poly
Odysseus: MP in Hypnos
Achilles: MP in Stable
Chimera: 2 again, or stays where he is, depending on PAL/CDG movements

(hoplite)
Bellerophan: hopefully Barb has killed itself on Bel now. If Bel is promoted, perhaps we should send him back to the east. If not, put him in the new Iron city when it is founded?
Theseus: MP in Olympus
Ajax: (protect workers!)7, to follow Roads R Us?
Hopity: MP in Hypnos
Pig Sticker: either 2 to replace reg Warrior con in Naked Aphro, or 4-4 to replace reg Warrior Diomedes in Poseidon. Either way, as Naked gets a new Hoplite this turn anyway, and we can send both Warrriors west or north to hopefully gain barb experience.

(archers)
Phobos II: 2 again?
Zeno: 4 - attack barb camp!
Alcaeus: stays put in Poly, unless we notice after the Iron barb camp is killed there are more barbs to the west
Cerebus's Keeper:7 or 8 to check for barbs if after the barb camp in the east is killed the Mil Adv still says they are nearby

Worker Orders

#1 Roads-R-Us – 7, to continue road
#2 Fred & Barny - Continue Mine
#3 Oppressed Laborers – continue irrigate
#4 Bonehed (slave from PAL) - road
#5 Woodchuck - cont mine.
#6 De La Hoya- mining

City Orders

Here we have a couple of options with the wf. Poly does not need the 2 food and 8 shields it will be gaining to finish a pop and settler - it only needs one food and 6 shields. We can give the cow Poly is working to either Poseidon's Harbour (to speed the Archer build by one turn) or to Hypnos (which means using the current wf Hypnos will not waste any shields when building the Horse/the Horse build will be sped by one turn). Also, the city that gets the cow will gain one extra food. In the case of Hypnos this means the current wf would not waste any food during growth, whereas for Poseidon it WOULD (odd number of food stored). I think we should next turn give the cow to Hypnos for one turn. The one negative to all this is that Poly will lose one gold for the one turn. I personally think that is OK.

So, this is what my wf would look like:

#1 Apolyton – wf 8-12-14-18- - settler (done in 1), worker
#2 Hypnos - wf 8-17-19 - horse, sword, sword (these sword builds assume we have the iron hooked up - if not they will be either horse, archer or warrior per Ministy of Offence request)
#3 Poseidon's Harbor - wf 1, 7 - archer (done in 3), curragh, hoplite, sword, sword
#4 Naked Aphrodite - wf no change - hoplite done, change to archer, sword
#5 Olympus - wf no change – worker (done in 1), granary, settler
#6 Stable of Hermes– wf no change– curragh (done in 1), to be determined....or start on zeus?

Head's up - this is with CDG, so PAL is next, and us right after. I'd expect this within a day.

Got spare money?

Let's keep Chimera on that mountain watching the show. I'd really like to put another Sentry on that gold hill 3 3 2 of him, or in the general area. We need to keep an eye on PAL and CDG and watch for any stray horseman stacks.

Phobos II should go north. I want to see where they've built their road, in case we need to cut it in the future.

Tired of ads?

Things are always clearer upon actually viewing the save!

Two revisions to my suggestions as far as wf goes:

Apolyton: Needs 6 shields and one food to grow and build a settler. Since growth happens before shields are counted, instead of working the forest for enough shields to build the settler BEFORE growth, what if we worked the roaded plains next to the river N of Apolyton (tile 1)? This still means we have the one food needed to grow, and the new wf, WHEREVER it goes, gets at least one shield, and thus completes the settler next turn anyway. And in the meantime we get one extra gold from the roaded riverside tile. In short, we should work 1-12-14-18 this turn

Olympus: is not scheduled for any wf change, but it only needs one shield to build the worker next turn. WIth the current wf of 1-6 it gets one shield too many, so if we change to 1-2 we still get that one shield, and also an additional food, whilst wasting only a corrupted trade.

Also the Barb camp right in front of Zeno has spawned a Horse this turn, so it will take two attacks to take the camp. We could let the Horse go, allowing it to battle with another of our units (a Hoplite for instance) to have a chance at promoting one of them, but that makes the Horse a bit of a rogue unit to deal with, so perhaps it's best to kill it now with Zeno instead of having it run around the countryside.

All else stands.

I'm thinking there should be some build in Apolyton between the settler and the worker so we don't depopulate our glorious captial.

I need OctX (or BigFree if he's still available) to play the save today. I have a dinner thing after work and won't be free until later tonight.

Looks like we have sufficient orders to do the turn and WIA's suggestions are helpful. Please follow through with my suggestions for those two units. PAL makes me nervous. They have the power to take us down very easily, especially once our army of 1-move units gets bogged down in CDG. That road of theirs makes it easy to maneuver into our weakly defended rear and wipe us out.

Maybe? Maybe not. We can't act so naive as to not even think about, especially do to PAL's already militarialistic persona.

Image is not showing.

Why was Phobos II moved 2? He was 2 of his position last turn. We're just moving him back and forth. That's dumb. Move him north and then east to the hills to track down the layout of the PAL road.

H_E fixed whatever I had done wrong. Thanks, btw.

Phobus: Seemed like a good idea at the time to keep up a sentry around. WIA had suggested it earlier, anyway, and I was under the impression that the concensus was to move as he had suggested.

Damn. I saw Togas' comment and thought 'why not'? I only posted 2 again as an idea - I had no real pros or cons to moving him anywhere. I should have gone back to my first post and changed things there instead or thinking that the later suggestions would be noted as well.

* MrWhereItsAt should really know this - having all orders in a single post is MUCH easier on the turnplayer..
