I just spoke EMP_CFC, the Ambassador of CFC, who asked what we are thinking of the result of their turn: that the LZ's are blocked and which strategy they chose to follow next.

I told him that it might raise again suspicion here that the LZ's are blocked, but that it is still entirely possible that GWT thinks along the same lines as we do.

Please state your opinion, especially the consuls.

Yeah thanks for that Trip. Insightful.

Hmm... We should find out if there are any ships around the place that CFC tried to land at. Perhaps now they will be a bit easier to convince of the need for an organised plan.

Er, we do still have an organised plan for them right?

Well, I think it would really be best if CFC could make a quick landing in GCA's south, get their GA started, and get back home with as many troops as possible.

If we want them to help with a picket, and GWT is close to being able to make their own landing, then CFC is going to need the GA in order out really help out there for that cause.

We also need to keep the appearance of a fleet just waiting for an opening to make a landing. Let's send 8 Galleys back home now with the rest making an "occasional appearance" so as to keep GWT's forces at home; or at least a good portion of them. Let's not forget that GWT will have to build a great deal more Galley's to get troops over to us. There's no way they will pull those already on picket duty away from their current duties. While GWT could land in ~12 turns there's now way they will take that chance and do so without more Galley's and enough troops for both defense at home and a sizable enough force to come after either CFC or us. For all GWT knows CFC could have 50 Horsemen built with the gold available to upgrade everyone of them. Same goes for us. GWT cannot gamble like that. The only reason were were able to gamble; and send the majoriity of our forces over seas is because we had no worries of GWT doing the same because of a lack of tech. But, now that all teams will soon have the requisite techs, all teams will need to:

1. Protect the homeland.

2. Keep the enemy guessing by harrasing them with simple incursions or just the appearance that one could beone the doorstep.

GWT will take care of #1 first; also inlcuded in that they will protect GCA to the best of their ability while not leaving themselves open to attack at either of their cores. I'd wager that they would, however, leave a few cities unprotected that are at the fringe of either core. Not that they don't want to protec them, just that they don't yet have enough troops to do it all.

Again, I think CFC needs their GA now in order to help us set up the picket in time.

Keeping those few Caravels there, and splitting them into two groups, could be a great idea for forcing GWT to waste more time on building up their defenses now when they could be better putting the effort into boosting their tech and economy further.

The two or more groups would make the occasional show, and if there was a weakness then we could threaten a landing by moving closer, forcing GWT to cover that area as well as the others. Eventually they will send something after us and realise the fleet is no longer there, or perhaps they may conclude there never WAS a large fleet, but every little bit we can do to slow them down now is worth it for the future.

Got spare money?

Cool.

I'm glad we agree on this.

We can keep two up North and send the two down South back home after they make an "appearance" next turn; after they dump their load (pun intended) , they will then head back to the South of GWT/GCA to make a few more "incursions" every so often.

Send all of the units home first. I don't mind having a few Caravels out pestering GWT and keeping them paranoid. I do mind having 3 Knights or Muskets each also along for the parade.

You seem to forget that those units will be sent home eventually, they have to be relieved from duty first. Once Some of the units are brought back two of the ships will head back, once they are half way there we will send the other two loaded ships back home.
