Now far be it for me to strike down an inovative idea like combining earth space and moon in single game map. I'm a little concerend though that it just might not be possible using the Civ II format.
My advice would to either make it a strictly moon based scenario or an earth based scenario.

Say Curt, I noticed the old Pan African Coalition flag in that cities.gif as well, are they a civ or does the flag now reperent another nation?

Well Curt, whatever format for the game you choose I'm sure it will both rock and kick ass. As for the flags, to be honest I like the old Eternal Reich flag better, the new tri bar flag looks plain by comparrison.
In anycase, it will be easier to judge when I have all the flags out together.

I may have to restrict the game to an Earth map, as limitations

Damn!
I will concentrate on making the moon landing a game issue nonetheless.

Damnit. I would have loved to see this develop

But, Jim:
May I ask you to continue with the Self-propelled
guns and perhaps some armour for the UFA and AUSCOM?
The choice of look is up to you, perhaps mutated versions
of the tanks the US and Oz used in the 1980s?
Your Leopards really rocked, and are in the game, if you allow it.
More MBTS in that style are much appreciated!
PS
No rush for them, all in your on pace, sir!

Is this about the size what you are looking for, Ciaran?
(If you should need more I will come up with more stuff, even Reich aircraft could be made available )

Curt, you get points just for trying to such a moon/earth scenario. But allas, the Civ II engine just can't handle it.
In any case, I'd love to see a Vendetta Moon scenario some day in the future. Where Australians and Africans can shoot it out in the Sea of Tranquility.
I'm almost finished reproducing the high res versions of the flags. I only have the Australian flag left to render. Whats taking so long is finding the appropriate eagle to stick on the flag.

I thought it was possible to have different city styles for different maps?
Even if it isn't, I suppose you could have a seperate city style that is triggered when a civ discovers the prerequisite tech for travel to the moon. City improvements would, I suppose, have to be left to the player's imagination (although it's not too hard to assume the existence of things like libraries and city defences on the moon, really. The naval improvements would, of course, be entirely moot in this regard).
Sorry to keep harping on about this, but I think it's an idea that really warrants implementation. I mean, with the Earth devastated by war there's likely to be at least some desire to move elsewhere, surely?
I've just had an idea: How about a second map, basically an inversion of the normal map, with the seabed as land and normal dry land as "sea"? This could be doable, as seen in the Midgard scenario for ToT.

I too would love to try this idea, but it needs a dedicated scen to make it work properly...
The main problem stems from the fact that the city styles are all used up by the civs.
The civs each have a set city style, and changing it for the
moon would make that change happen on Earth too.
I like the seabed idea, but it would involve making a whole
gang of specialised units; and now the slots are all mostly used...
I think the 'paradise island' is the best way to represent that new start that the civs can fight over...
Sadly - Even ToT has it's limitations...
But I will make the most of what I can use, on that you can trust me!
