When they edit or delete one of your posts?

It's somewhat disconcerting when you look for a post (which IMO was innocuous - all I said was "massacres ") and it's not there anymore, and you have to do a few searches to make through. It'd save bandwidth, too.

The last thing I need to do after some moron types a bunch of swear words, or hateful comments, personal insults, or other things that breaks the rules of the site, is to waste even MORE of my valuable time by sending him a PM. If they have a problem, they can take the time to write a polite and logical PM, and then I would be more than willing to answer their questions. On the other hand, I usually don't respond to PMs saying things like"I'm going to kill your family" or "You suck".

You wouldn't believe what people send me. Threats to my family, children, me... The ole, you must be having a bad day (like I must be having a bad day because I deleted a post that was telling somebody to **** off), that we make decisions based on disagreeing with them... and on, and on, and on.

At one point, somebody set up a hate site against me where they discussed tracking me down so they could get me fired from my job... blah blah blah... It was however amusing when I found the site and posted a simple "HI"

I really don't spend all that much time on poly during the day. I check in often enough, but that's about it.
I don't stay too long unless some "action" is required

What's hot is the "search" category... but since creative applications are pretty much limited to text and links, the really hot stuff is IMU's... which are basically square banners imbedded in text areas vs your traditional banners and skyscrapers bordering the edges.

Yep... Google and Overture are just racking up the money. It is the most effective and efficient of all internet advertising space at the moment. Spending in search vehicles is doubling every week... Eventually, demand will outstrip supply, and the numbers should start to balance again... but search, Google in particular, is just HOT!

I hate getting pm's. Because most of mine are from mods who tell me I've ****ed up and are threatening to ban me or PCR me.

No one ever PM's me except the mods who do when I screw up . I have no friends.

*diss runs off crying*

So whenever I get a message that I have a PM my stomach cringes, because I fear that message is from a moderator telling me I have a PCR or ban. Imagine my surprise when somone other than a mod PM'd me a couple days ago!

Gosh, saying, "You suck" seems a little over the top, don't you think?

Back on topic, I've been on forums where the search feature couldn't find its own arse with both hands. 'Poly search isn't that bad, but it doesn't find stuff it should be easily finding.

So when will marketeers realise that net adds aren't effective? No, they probably are effective then if they still exist... but I wouldn't think they are as effective as advertisers would want them to be. At least they're easy to ignore .
