	The Fall of Sparta Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I'm beginning to fear Sparta will have to be turned into an AI faction, and thus our team disbanded.

Why?

The most active Spartans gameplay-posters in the past three months have been Googlie, Zeiter and me.

I will move to Ghent in a few days at the start of the academic year. Though I should still be able to keep posting here (due to internet access at my faculty's network node), it will of course be somewhat less and above all less regular. This means it will be impossible for me to discuss urgent stuff last-minute, making it impossible for me to be a turnplayer and play a turn in under 48 hours if some things still need to be discussed after the turn arrived.

Zeiter doesn't have SMAX and thus can't play the turn either.

I had hoped Googlie could be the turnplayer again after he came back from holidays, but he hasn't posted much since he came back. Last post already three days ago.

This means Sparta is without a turnplayer currently.

But seriously, I must say, you've done an excellent job of turnplaying. Even with the extremely low activity, you've kept the turns on schedule and played them right according to plan.

I'd just hate to see our faction end now, considering how well our faction is doing, and how interesting the game is about to get. And we've already put so much time and effort into it, that it would be a shame for it be all for nought. I think the other factions would also much prefer us to stay in the game, as a 3 faction game is not going to be nearly as fun as a 4 faction game.

So, the question becomes, who can be the turnplayer now? Maybe Googlie would like to? Or Kassiopeia? I know Dissident is active from his posts in the OT forum. Maybe he'd like to do it. He might have just forgotten about the game. I'll pm him.

Wow, who knew that Sparta would fall not to Gaian hovertanks, nor Morganite investors, nor Data Angel hackers, but to a virulent outbreak of the Rela Lefi and Inaki Tivita viruses?

Pfft! I'll turnplay if we have no one else to do it. But it does mean winning the game will be way, way more unlikely for us unless you can supply me with a lot of advice.

Zeiter: There are *ways* to give people without SMAX it, if you know what I mean... what sort of an Internet connection do you have?

Btw, do tell if you hear something about Dissident. I'm kinda wondering who's still in any way interested. GT isn't currently, and Primus Pilus hasn't visited Apolyton for the last 25 days or so: I sent him a PM a while back about the construction of SCC Hunter, but he hasn't read it.

I'm back and active - haven't posted much since Thursday as i've been assimilating all the turns since I left (I downloaded the 8 or so since 2129 and have been following the development)

So I can resume duties as turnplayer if needed - or can assist Kass as appropriate

I am still reading the board almost daily, for what it's worth. I can't turnplay though since I don't have SMAX, which is not necessarily a bad thing

sorry for the delay. I can be a turnplayer, but I'm definately not as experienced as some of you. I'm not sure if I would make the best moves if there is no one else around to consult with. The problem I have now is classes. And sunday I like to watch football . You pretty much won't find me at Apolyton on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.

No, I never pm'ed you because I got a message that said that I had to be an Apolyton plus subscriber to pm people But I did post a message for you in one of the Off-Topic forum threads that you had posted in, hoping that you'd happen to see that. Did you happen to see that post? Or did you just come by the HQ anyway? Either way, good to hear from ya!

well that's weird. because you don't have to be a plus subscriber to PM people. unless they changed that recently. I may have missed your post as well. But I realized it's been a while since I checked in.

Next turn, I'll load it up and try to get caught up on our position. I guess I could load last turn.

How quickly are the turns coming around? I like to be around when the turn comes up.

I'm checking as often as I can, but most of the time I don't even have access to my own computer. Using a 100mhz machine with a 14kps modem is about as fun as it sounds.

I have been checking here from time to time, but I thought I'd actually post this time to announce we have a new member. KrysiasKrusader has joined today. He played many PBEMs in '02 and '03 and so has been authorized. Hopefully it won't turn out to be a case of mis-clicking.

Well. When I eventually catch up to where your all at, I'll be in a better position to offer my 2 energy credits.

Until then, and if in a pinch - I can play the turn.

But this is not a position (responsibilty) that I would be interested in taking on - unless neccessary to insure our factions survival of course...
