Actually I did basically disappear. With the exception of a topic I started for gameleague suggestions that was the only time I posted. Not to mention that I didn't even play league games or tribes so my only affiliation with gameleague was for the strategy section. My gameplay was nonexistant practically since I played a few 2 on 2's once in a while on the zone. Don't blame me for coming back this time, thank Markusf and Mokerguy for pointing out my email address to Kwang. I would happily have carried on doing what I was doing. If you want me gone, next time don't bring me up.

Why don't you attack when there is something to attack? Getting all defensive and legalistic is not the way to get a success happening.
With Eyes involvement and GL's poor judgement and all your attitudes it's very likely another league will successfully displace GL.
However, I think there is a generational thing here. GL is pretty much a teenage thing which is OK and the attitude does generate some adrenalin but it is not the style of many of the Apolytoneers. I seriously think a separate league/tribe thing like the one proposed is a good option for the more mature players who generally like 1x1x and full length proper games of civ MP.

I really hate seeing the problems of Gameleague spilling over to here. Its a league with a good intention of active competition for a game many diehards love. I joined last November because I wanted an online game that challenged me, and a league I thought, provided more competent players.
I am not a diehard civ'r,never even played solo against ai. I jumped in on civ2 gold with some friends on a network because they wanted another player. I am a lifelong gamer, but more along the lines of Panzer general for computer and Squad Leader,Axis&Allies offline with friends. My gaming wish has always been a true multiplayer game because I like to be social and I like games. I enjoy the ability to have fun with a bunch of people and my 1st civ games on a network with friends right next to me were awesome. The civ virus had hit. So after a couple games in the zone I played my first few league games. I lost, but I gained some pointers and eventually made some very good friends.Some People who I have met in person and many I talk to on a daily basis online. Although civ was the common ground, its not what we always talk about. From league I also veered of to the Off Topic section of Apolyton and have never left, as annoying as I may be to Ming sometimes with my age discriminations  Again through that forum I have made some very good friends and had some awesome conversations.This little community we have is better than most online. We have not only good gamers, but interesting and intelligent people. Something I never found in many league games and did find in a couple games with Ming,Rah,Bird,etc was a social aspect. I mean if we were in the same room we would be joking and having beers all the while still trying to beat each other,almost a modern cigar smoking boys night out. I also found that in a good friend SeanKhan who I met in league. This is what playing civ was all about, not worrying who is cheating or who will sell out as an ally,not to keep in character,but because he wants to win the points.Now the league forums are nothing but backbiting and bitc#ing about the system rather than just playing and having fun. Certainly not what anyone wants to see if they were thinking about joining. There is a big difference between the chest expanding boasts last year and the accusastions of the league admins cheating now. This kind of thing has to stop and it has to stop now from both sides. Moker you guys have to be adults about this stuff and Frank, Kwang, Eyes you have to be adults too. Things can be worked out without threats from Frank or insults from Moker.A new team league is kewl and really no different in scope than Ming's regular games.If it goes well maybe you can incorporate it with league tribes in time for civ3, a game I hope will have less cheat problems.Frank maybe you can talk more with Moker and get some help, just like Kwang got help from Eyes, and make league Tribes better and more user friendly.Moker seems to have skills and time.
I will end my MtG length post(if you don't know what I am talking about go to the OT forums,great place).
I met Eyes/Sean in the zone and have talked to him many times. He is an intelligent kid and a good civ player,but a terrible example for Gameleague and civ.I have always stood up for him in conversations and if he lived near me I am sure I would help him if he needed it. Hell I would prolly buy him beer, but sadly I,like Sloww and Cavebear can no longer support his connection to Gameleague. I cannot argue with his skills as a civ player,but his attitude detracts from that skill to the point of being a negative. He has been given an opportunity to act like an adult and as his posts begin again to show he is back to his old self.Decisions made by Gameleague will not affect my play in league, or my personal life, but from someone that gives advice for a living I suggest you make some hard decisions now so in the civ3 future you will be able to reap the rewards of honest hard work. Actually, the use of webpage ideas and other sorts of things are pretty blurred when it comes to copyright infringement. I'm sure if Frank wanted to he could easily make a very good argument portraying you as theives of the net.

For those of you who question Chuckles word, I can vouch for him on this: he is, without a doubt, one of a very select and small group (read: "those I might be able to beat in civ2 mp play) Those of you who know me and my skill know what an honor this is 
Frank-Personally, I see everyone as an individual. It doesn't matter to me how old or young you are, or whatever. I seek a peaceful coexistance, or, if that's too high a goal, at least a live-and-let-live setup. We don't want to end, threaten, or steal gameleague or any players from you. We do want to exist, side by side, with Gameleague, indulging in that illicit high that is civ2 mp gaming.

Im here to play civ. Screw all of this political BS. Give me a game of civ with good players, that are more than just robots, and im having fun. I bet everyone else is too. Because Eyes, when we play we both move quickely, It is impossible for you to perform the amount of anylization of demographics etc. in the amount of time between turns. SO i have a hard time believing you use all the strategies you write.
