A Question About MapEdit Support Apolyton, buy Alpha Centauri

This post is mainly directed at Mercator or anyone very familiar with his work. I've found that some maps I edit with MapEdit become distorted along the coastlines (that is, certain land and ocean hexes switch around on coastal regions), especially after editing dimensions of the map. The readme doesn't seem to address this issue. Can you please tell me how to fix this problem.

I also noticed this problem, that's why I always let the map dimension sizes end with 0 or 5.

For example:
65x100

I just tried that tactic now, but to no avail. Does anyone know another solution? Mercator, are you out there?

I sort of did mention it, but only vaguely so for flipping/mirroring a map. It's a problem inherent to the way Civ2 maps are constructed.

To prevent the distortion, only ever add/remove an even amount of tiles at the top of a map.

To illustrate, see my attachment...

The first image is the original, below it is the same map with one row added, to the right is the map with two rows added.

You can see that the map with one added row at the top looks completely different. The green/blue pattern is basically the other way around. But if you compare it with the original map row by row, you'll see that each row is exactly the same.

The cause is obvious. Every other row is indented. If you add an odd amount of rows, the indentation swaps around, creating the distortion.

Sorry to take my time responding, Mercator. Your solution worked perfectly! Thanks for the help!
