quote: and dont tell me about our inability to take on mariano - we own him. remember that 3 run homer off him on july 24? his save percentage against us is around 70%. thats low compared to the rest of the league. |
Except in the LCS where Rivera is now 6 for 6 in save opportunities vs. the Sox. Step up big when it counts or go home.
You're knowledge of sports is a joke.
And the statement of the Yankees not having a winning record vs. teams with records over .500 is also incorrect and was proven wrong in your previous thread by Imran... who is the one guy that impresses me more than anyone with his ability to be OBJECTIVE and factual.
Take a lesson.

I handle it just fine. You simply are a sports moron. :-P~~
And thats Mr. Captain America.
quote: Why gee, thanks OW . I'll even refrain from cursing the Yankees for that kind remark |
No problem ,Imran. You deserve it.... you keep to facts and back it with stats in a very objective manner. Thats not easy to do for fans in general.

Wow, great game. Lieber was fantastic! What really impressed me was the 16 pitch at-bat against Damon. Damon was the very definition of "pest" and Lieber just kept after him until he got him out (granted, it was a sharp liner) and then didn't fold after that. Hell, he threw 82 pitches in 7+ innings. Wow.
Pedro, as I expected, pitched well. Also as I expected, the Yanks did their wait-him-out thing and got his pitch count up. And it worked like it usually does - they scratched 3 runs off him in 6 innings. That has been the formula for years and it worked again. Bravo.
Boston isn't done, of course, but it's sure nice to be up 2-0. Bronson (aka "Brandon" - McCarver, you ****ing idiot) Arroyo is a pretty good pitcher and has pitched well against the Yanks. Wakefield typically pitches well against the Yanks, although he didn't do very well in Game 1. I expect the teams to split the next two games. The key will be game5 - I'm assuming Shilling is done (that really is some shitty luck - it's stuff like that that makes people believe in curses) and Lowe must pitch. That sounds pretty good to me.
By the way, I think we can ALL agree on one thing: Fox is absolutely terrible. It's difficult to watch. From the ridiculous "Star Wars" thing to open game 1, to that moronic "skippy" talking baseball thingy, to the downright retarded Tim McCarver... it's awful. The only saving grace has been Al Leiter.
