If the Red Sox don't win tonight, the supposed best team since '75 will be nothing at all. Also, the "well, there's always next year" won't do it. Pedro will be gone, as will Lowe, Schilling could be out the entire season, and Manny or Varitek will be lost to Free Agency. There are going to be a lot of holes to fill.

we've played one bad game (game 3) and we're down 3 - 0. looks like fate and circumstance has interveened again to put us in a position to once again demonstrate why we are americas team.

the hopes of the nation rest on a pitcher demoted to the bullpen and a lineup of gold glovers and defensive specialists who will need to outhit a yankee lineup whose 2 - 5 are hitting over .500 and beat the best pitcher in the second half.

Game 1 was bad too. When your first 19 batters all go down, that's bad. We came close to coming back, but not until the 7th.

Then, Game 2 had no offense from the supposedly hole-less Sox batters. Were it not for Pedro, that game could've been far worse.

However, perhaps everything will turn around tonight. The Sox could win four straight...its not impossible. However, I'm not putting money on it.

I mean, I'm an Atlanta Braves fan, which at times is akin to saying my team is a step up from the Vikings or the Bills... I thank God every day that we won at least one World Series, else the pain would be too great.

But the Yankees just own you in a way that no other team does in American professional sports. They have gotten into your heads, and y'all have shown no signs of letting it go.

And it's not just the team having an inferiority complex against another, it's likely the whole city that, deep down in its heart, knows it doesn't quite measure up to its rival to the south. You almost had your chance in... what, 86(?), but Bill Buckner let that one go right through his legs... while playing the other NYC team.

Yeah, there are far worse things than being a Braves fan, trust me.

Winning the season series matters FAR FAR less than winning 4 out of 7 come the playoffs. You always seem to ignore- thye YANKEES won the division, NOT Boston. We had a better record that you in the regular season. Thje only question now is wether Boston gets swept or not. I don;t think they will, but its going to be the Yankees to the WS once again.
