Worker Orders

#1 Roads-R-Us – Follow Bonehed(?) I would have him go to stable and improve tiles there.
#2 Fred & Barny - Join De La Hoya
#3 Oppressed Laborers – Follow Douglas Adams, when free
#4 Bonehed (slave from PAL) - this turn we must decide whether or not to have Bonehed and Roads-R-Us complete a road to Apolyton or whether to head straight for the unconnected Wines West of Apolyton
Bonehead should go to the wines.
#5 Woodchuck - irrigating
#6 De La Hoya - continuing with the Togas plan, road, yes, road.
#7 Douglas Adams - I have no idea why he is here, but can we please move him out of the war zone now? I would have him start improving tiles in the homelands.

City Orders

NOTE: THE IRON IS NOW CONNECTED, SO KINDLY ASK PAL TO NOT SEND US ANY TECH FOR A BIT AS THAT WILL CAUSE ALL OF OUR WARRIORS IN THE BUILD QUEUES TO UPGRADE INTO SWORD BUILDS, AND IT IS BETTER FOR US TO BUILD WARRIORS THAN SWORDS DIRECT.

#1 Apolyton – wf – settler (done in 1), hoplite.
#2 Hypnos – wf Remember either this turn or next to change from the roaded grass to the forest so we are gaining 8 shields. This must be done for two of these next three turns to allow the Swordman to be done a turn earlier, switch this turn please - Sword (done in 3)
#3 Poseidon's Harbor - wf – new warrior, change to sword, sword
#4 Naked Aphrodite - wf - Turn one worker into a scientist, and then reduce the science rate to 0%. This gains us 3 extra gold per turn, so we will be at +16, and keep us on trakc for our currency tech in 33 turns. With one upgrade this turn, we have 16 gold in the bank, and 3 turns at 16 gold is 48, so we will just have enough to do one more upgrade prior to the start of anarchy. new warrior, change to sword
#5 Olympus - wf - granary (lots of time to effect a change if we choose, done in 51), settler
#6 Stable of Hermes– wf – Curragh (done in 6), ?
#7 Sidiros Lofos – wf – Warrior (done in 6)

Suffering from ads?

Is our military starting to gather for the attack?

I kindly request that the following units be kept in cities at the start of the war:

2 hoplites in Olympus
1 hoplite in Naked
1 hoplite in "New City"
1 warrior in each other city, particularly the iron city, poly and PH.

I can understand not moving many of the MP units until anarchy hits, but all the extras should be going into position ASAP.

Tired of ads?

* MrWhereItsAt staggers in waving the save

We've got mail!

I'll post it above in the appropriate place and then get to adding my suggested moves (will do these in red so we can tell between my meagre suggestions and GK's properly planned orders) once I've got some PBEMs out of the way.

And this came with the save:

quote:

Will get to that board after the weekend is over..pertinent info...

Good to see you have that iron hooked up. We know of your mighty swordsman, at least the Foreign guy does. We have that silk set up, will send it your way next turn.

More importantly: Do you know anything about the coast north of you? We've spotted multiple sea tiles BEYOND ocean on our west coast, approximately parallel with Crudetown, and we're wondering some of the very obvious questions. We don't plan to go charging off into the deep blue sea in the near future, but the Lighthouse is going to get a lot of work if that's any indication.

Save is attached, sorry for the delay.

Perhaps we should tell them about those islands (and their meagre size) but ask that neither of us attempt to settle there until we can sort out the continental land allocation.

I'd also like to tell them we have their slave (Bonehed) going to connect up the second wines for them, and an ETA on that.

Do we have an agreement to give Bonehed back to PAL at some venture? I have seen it assumed in a couple of places here, but I didn't see the correspondence relating to that.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

We received Bonehead from PAL as we were attempting to hook up the iron with a coloney, and I requested of PAL to use one of their captured slaves to form the colony with so that our more productive workers could do productive things. PAL agreed. However, it was always assumed the worker would be consumed with our operations. We didn't consume it, so it is unfair for us to hold onto him unless we ask PAL if that is OK. Several times I requested our FAM department ask the question, and so far as I know it hasn't been.

Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

I looked at the save, and no real changes are needed from me except to make sure that poly starts on the hoplite next, and to have an escort ready for the new settler as it makes its way to Togas' new site.

Turn Results

Played in chat using posted orders at 4:10am GMT

APOLYTON builds a settler. Begins work on Hoplite.

Settler 3 6

warriors:
Anthea 4
grog 4

archers:
Cerebus 2 2 1 (heading back to join the army)
Phobos 1

hoplites:
Agamemnon 3 6 (escourting new settler)

swords:
Hermes 6 6 2 (to naked)
Roadkill 6 6 2 (to naked)
Achilles 6 2 2 (on the way to naked)

curraghs:
Kitchen Sink 8 4
Valient 6 3

workers:
Roads R Us 3 3 3
bonehead 2 1
Fred & Barney ROAD (and finish road)
Opressed 4 1 1
Douglas Adams 1 4 4

cities:
no changes to WF.

We are making 15gpt now after building new units (settler)

I recommend that Road R Us move 2 next turn and then irrigate. We need to bring water up to Stables, and we have 4 other workers in the Apolyton region that can be devoted to improving that area and the next city site.

Next turn we should adjust WF in Hypnos to 7spt.
