I'm replaying it from the time when Hydey dropped out - I want see how things turn out if I play it differently. Also, its giving me feedback on what it was like to play on your side. It is still an interesting game. Finbar played the first session. This time I built Sun Tsu, instead of leaving it for your side

Well you're not building Sun Tsu is pretty realistic for what I want beacuse I had the option to build it in the duel but chose not to. I built it 2nd turn in this time. Makeo built it some time after that in the first game.

Well the game was a very strange one. It started out with Hydey, me and, believe it or not, Makeo's mum playing. Interestingly Makeo's mum also chose Aztec - must be a family thing. There were also 4 Ai civ.
Makeo's mum only played one session and then Makeo took over his mum's civ but found he was boxed in on a narrow peninsula with only 3 cities, one of which the barbs got I think, at the heel of the Horse Empire (the good guys in this story ).
Makeo said he couldn't make a go of it as Aztec so Hydey and I said he could take over one of the Ai civs. But Hydey got pissed off when makeo chose the Japanese which Hydey said he was about to attack (God knows with what). I, ahem, then absorbed the Aztecs and makeo took out the Indians, most of the French and the Persians.
Makeo then started a war with me by tech stealing and when Hydey lost a city to the barbs, makeo bribed it. Hydey got very annoyed about that and demanded it back. When makeo didn't give it back straight away, Hydey announced he was leaving the game. I asked Hydey to give me his cities because makeo would crush me once he got Hydey's cities cheaply as an AI civ. Hydey agreed and gave me all his cities except his capital which he couldn't pass over.
That was the situation in 1610 when the game turned into a "duel". As for Sun Tsu, firstly the game wasn't a duel up to that point and we were all busy doing other stuff. Whilst makeo was off warmongering, for example, I built Leonardo's and Statue of Liberty as well as conquering the Aztecs.
Any Questions?
