The merits of finishing games Support Apolyton, pre-order Civilization IV

One characteristic of the Australian group is that we try and finish our games. I have about 15 saves with different combos of players and AI civs. We play whichever game suits the players that show up on the night. If someone stops showing up permanently, like makeo now that he has gone overseas, we get new players to sub for them, or they can take an AI civ. This system seems to work pretty well. We have even let players take over an AI civ when their own civ was destroyed (makeo for one, he he). We have several games in their later stages. It helps if you have a core group of regulars.

Do other regular groups do this? Seems uncommon from what I have read.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Bottom line: all those foreign buggers live so far away, in such silly places in such ludicrous time zones, that we're pretty much stuck with each other.

Ya. I really wish you hadn't started that thought process. It leads to Hydey being the two twittering sisters from upstairs.

I was thinking more of Hydey as O.J. Simpson, you could be Leslie Nielson

There are a couple games that I am in which are not progressing to conclusion at the moment mostly due to me and Finbar alternatingly putting the kybosh to them by being absent. The one with Arri, Markus, and Deity is well along and should be *Fin*-ished.
