It is good to see a response to the Archbishops offer of alliance, though it takes the threat of death for you to respond. Perhaps the Archbishop was justified in his faith of you. Time will tell. Some may say that Jonny was a man of the cloth as well

Rah: The last time you played like this: that is below the radar stuff, you turned out to be the mafia.

Was that reference earlier, in the story, to 'hysterical', when the king was stabbed an oblique pointer to 'historical'. Historical/historian get my drift.

However I wonder if I will survive to find out.

The delusions of a man ready to be killed by his peers.

I play most games under the radar, but have been killed early in all the recent games so you're only remembering the exceptions.

Hysterical/historical. Quite a stretch. With clues like that the mafia would win every game.

Fortunately you will be dead before you make more baseless accusations. DIE MURDERER.
And if we're wrong, oppssss

I know where there's a year's supply of quite good wine that might be of interest to 1 or more particular Royal attendants.

And as for anyone interested in cellar-air dried ham or mature cheeses, I am your courtier.

Cheeses , what more do I have to offer?

Hmmm... this is quite the quality bit of sucking up, my friend. Unfortunately for you, I already happen to know where the wine in question is stored.

You do know what they say, Hercules: "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me". There isn't going to be any fooling twice this time, sadly.

Be sure to say hi to Jonny for us.

I wouldn't, ordinarily, but I just didn't see Dr. Spike as a legitimate docpile alternative. He stands out in the story way too much to be the other killer, IMO.

The fact that the food-related potential clues haven't stopped even with Jonny's death says a lot...

Well, it seems that I was eliminated from Society V (by Whoha), I was eliminated from Galactic Overlord (by the Unholy Alliance of Joncha, Skanky Burns and Kassiopeia), I was eliminated from my fill in role in Gladiator by myself, Nuclear War doesn't take a whole lot of time or planning and regardless I am about to be eliminated by Whoha (again... noticing a pattern here) and we are waiting on Jonny to update Nascar, so I seem to have a fair bit of my Forum Games time on my hands for keeping the tally here.

(after all I wouldn't want to use my normal computer time on something useful )

Chapter VI

After the apparent triumph of the former vote, those still believing in Hercules's guilt rallied once again to get the Courtier killed. This time no viable alternative candidate appeared, and even though by a rather close margin, Hercules won, well, lost, and was summarily executed. His pleas for a recount and an additional impartial examination of the items used in the vote went unheeded.

***

Even having just marginally survived the execution vote, DrSpike decided to further study the corpse of Duke o' york, which amidst all the humdrum about the murder weapon had gone rather unnoticed. For a refreshing change, he decided to peek inside the Duke's stomach. In it, he discovered that besides the presumed wine he had consumed, before his death the Duke had also consumed a significant quantity of bread, to satisfy his middle-of-the-night hunger pangs no doubt.

With Hercules not keeping watch, the inevitable happened - Tuberski came to pay his respects to the belated gjramsey.

"My word! DrSpike, what on earth are you doing!" Tuberski exclaimed, seeing the healer standing in front of a gutted Duke o' york, his hands cuddling the opened bowels of the deceased in question.

DrSpike just stood there, not too taken aback by the words. "I am studying the dead so that I can keep the ones alive alive longer. Am I to be condemned only for my desire to help the living?"

Tuberski shrugged. "I imagine it is not my place to decide that... really, it sounds rather a remarkable idea. It is foul to the eyes, however."

"Then please let me do my work in peace and quiet."

"As you wish... I will have time to pay my respects later."

***

The following morning was as bleak as the one before - but the inhabitants of the haggard inn had grown accustomed to it, as unfathomable as it sounds. DrSpike, the brilliant physician, was discovered in a state of perpetual and incurable death. The healer's neck had apparently been snapped - no one could verify this with DrSpike's knowhow stuck in a dead piece of neurons - but he had also been bludgeoned with something, which was obvious from he trauma in his head - possibly to stop him to do the actual neck-snapping, or possibly due to some other reasons privy only to the killer.

I'm never mafia

I even missed the last turn's vote

But your rather too active involvement in this game, posting voting tables and such, makes me suspect you are. Therefore I vote Sparrowhawk.

And I can't hold it against you, as I started the Docpile that got you eliminated (and Jonny too I think )...only a matter of time before I am eliminated, I just wish we had gotten the killer first.

And Ljube statement that he is "never" the mafia (a statement that I have seen a number of times before) is what makes me suspect him above all others, what better choice then someone that we all know is "never" the mafia?
