Is that a sea I see? Support Apolyton, buy Civilization 2

Something I noticed recently - it that a sea lane I'm spotting, and if so, should we suicide a curragh to investigate?

NO!!!! Wait 10 turns or so and we will upgrade to a galley. That has a 3 movement and a better chance of exploring and surviving IMHO.

Don't forget that sea can sometimes be out in the middle of the ocean. Sea does not necessarily mean land.

Now coast, on the other hand... if you see coast, go for it.

Still, speaking in general, sea is a good indicator of the possibility of coast, and thus land. I'd say investigate post-war, or as soon as we can afford a suicide ship or two.

If you look at the edges of the ocean tiles to the NW, it almost looks like the fringing for sea tiles.

note: after Republic, we need to build a harbor, probably in Stables, to upgrade our curraghs, so that we can make the treck to explore this potential sealane.
