Multimapping Enter the AD-FREE zone

Anyone remembers Civ II Test of Time? What about multimapping?

Of course in the normal game no, but in scenarios I think that is a great idea.

Also, what about Edge-Tile and Teleporters, this is, you have a map, you put a special tile that "ends" the map (allowing to reappear in the other edge) and a tile/improvement/unit feature to teleport from zone to zone.

A similar example could be made with Civ III : Non-crossable flag and airports.

I always liked the idea of multi-level mapping (like in CtP and MoM).

Suffering from ads?

What about multiple Earthlike worlds in the same star system, either orbiting eachother or having separate orbits around the same star or different stars? The setup options for each could be chosen separately, so they could be different sizes with different terrain types. Some player civs could start on one world and some on another. Transport between worlds should be late in the game and be difficult. It could be impossible to transport sufficient military units alone to conquer the other world, your best bet would be settlers and/ or cultural assimilation. You could even just paste two different scenarios together and be able to travel between them. You could have a separate UN for each world.

Put an end to popups!

This doesn't sound like Civ, sorry.

But it could be great for another game.

Well, it would be a civ where a new map opens up on each new world. Almost like AC, but all occurring in the same game and the worlds interacting with each other (all in the same solar system).

But it is Civ, from Test of Time. A limited application of the idea, the only reason I got it and played it.

Yeah, and I guess with the sci fi and fantasy games in Test of Time and stuff, maybe the Time Travel thread is a little more justified than I gave it credit for.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Multimapping is great for scenarios, but I doubt of its value in a standard civ-game.

I feel the "multimapping" idea is a great one. The possibilities of the future is something we cannot predict. What if one day earth and another planet could work inconjunction??? What would that look like? I would be possible with the right technlogical advancements. I mean look where start @ the beginning... Roads, Warriors and City Walls to Rails, Moderm Armor and Laser Defense Systems. What's wrong with advancing the natural progression of the game. This could be linked with the often disabled Space Race, which i can say i usually just don't bother with.
