Now, we've had these kind of threads before but I never participated so I felt like putting on a new one. So, pics of your city. First up is my city, Turku, the oldest Finnish city, this year it had her 775th b-day. Also the first Finnish capital, though it was changed to Helsinki later on. Turku is also known as the rectum of Finland, but that's just a joke. Maybe sometimes it's true though. But the city is great, and it's a real 'summer city'. One of the best places to be in summer. It's also a coastal city, and has its own port. Used to be one of the most busy business places in here because of the port, and still is. Has long traditions of education and all kinds of important things historically speaking. University of Turku was built about a hundred years ago, by volunteer work and volunteer collected money. Now it is one of the three big ones, with Helsinki and Tampere Uni's. It is also one of the big 3 in cities in Finland, others being Helsinki and Tampere. There's always a feud going on between these 3. Turku is located in the west coast of Finland. This is a fact, the sperm count in Turku is one of the very highest in the whole world. And the women are also extremely hot in Turku, this is a known fact across Finland, the hottest ones are in Turku, and there's lots of them. I have grown to like this city very much and lived there little over a year now.

But I'm a 20 minute drive away from the pollution capital of Canada -- Toronto, Ontario, Canada!

Toronto is also home to the tallest freestanding structure in the world, which was built by the people of the area in order to compensate.

Up in the rich area of Logan there is this custom built home that looks similar to a castle.
And then theres even a custom 1,000,000 home here in Logan

lonestar, what beats the castle? You didn't post a pic of a castle? You don't even have a castle, a real castle . So you can't beat it. You beat my city with the bridge though, that's pretty cool. Of course I could post 1000 pics of my city, these ones doesn't still bring the feeling of it at all, especially at summer.

here's a Las Vegas picture you guys aren't familiar with. maybe some of the old fogey's know this. I hope this doesn't strike people as insensitive. This incident increased hotel safety everywhere as a result.

Diss, I could take a guess, but I just settle guessing it's one of the casino/hotels that got put into scrambles so a new and more glorious could come and take the place.

yeah, but this wasn't an intentional demolition. The second worst hotel fire in the U.S.

ah ok. I saw this program about these demolition experts who came up with the whole concept and term of implosion, the ones who were in charge of most of the demolition done in Las Vegas.. they made it a show too like you know, people could come and watch.. those people were pretty pro ok..

I don't think I've really seen a building be demolished here in Logan...wlel, a few times perhaps, but usually they just become abandoned and put up for sale.
