Um I was thinking about the french-infantry divisions. Shouldn't the old "Regular Infantry 1914" be replaced with the new "Regular Infantry" after completing the "New French Armies"? right now there is no change at all =(

Mmmm, the 1914 type infantry should not be buildable after you discover that tech ... instead you are able to recruit the standard regular infantry ...

yes but when I research that tech NOTHING happen, the units are not replaced with the new infantry.
And also, when playing brittain the tech "New Brittish Army" can not be researched at al, it simply never appears in the research-goal menu =)

I intended to make it that way: You cannot build those "vintage" troops, you have to "recruit" new ones

*weeping* yes =( but, the thing is that I nevere even get the new troops! :O just the vintage ones =) thats because the French tech is wrong written in the rulse.txt file, acording to that file the tech becomes invalid when the tech itself is researched :P Ich glaube das du mich verstehen

Great! this fixes it all up just great =)
Been playing it for some time now, it's really really hard to get nations like Austria-Hungary to work financially :O runs out of money like zipp ^^ I guess it's quite like how it was back in the days, but it reallt makes the game hard, its hard still to guard your northern cities against the russians =) I also thought about those fortresses (the units that's guarding cities) they are immensly strong :O are they really suppose to be that immortal?

Historicly, Austria-Hungary was disintigrating by the time of the first world war, The Reason why it is called the Autrian-Hungarian empire is beacause during the 19th century the hungarians were ready to split off the empire and form their own state, so emperor Franz Josef gave them equal representation in the empire
They had lost nemerous wars against france and prussia and by the start of the 20th century Emperor Franz Josef was really the only thing holding the empire together.

Indeed , not only the hungarians but also the slavian people where starting to rise against the crown. Not very strange when you have a country with the ruling people (Germans and Hungarians) beeing minority =)

Put an end to popups!

Emperor Franz josef was getting ready to establish a triple monarchy where Austrians Hungarians and Slavs would have Equal representaion within the empire, but ww1 broke out and they had to attend to that (if he had done that the monarchy would have been a way overcomplicated mess )

If it was still around today it would probably be called the Austro-Hungarian-Czech-Slovokian-Slovenian-Croasian-Bosnian
Polish-Rumanian-Italian-Slavian Empire

hehe thats quite ironic as well =) How on earth could all those people have "representations" when the entire thing is ruled by one man and his staff =O he would still be good 'ol Franz Loosing the archduke also made thing a bit rough finding a sucessor to the throne. And there is noooo way that the country would find a regend as strong as Franz Josef. After 60 years on the throne you probably know some stuffs about beeing the emperor ^^

yea, no other european monarch was as well liked by their people as franz josef, probably beacause he knew how to run the country smoothly and what his people liked and didn't like, i figure that an acurate ww1 scenario would have austria hungary disintegrate after franz josefs death in 1916, he became emperor when he was 18, and that was in 1848
By the summer of 1914 he was in the 66th year of his reign.

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

As a native Austrian from Vienna rest assured that: (1) It is more than true that Franz Josef was a very popular ruler - almost everyone in the Habsburg Empire was born under the rule of him; (2) Franz Josef tried to solve the succession problem with his closests relatives - which failed very spectacular in the case of the heir prior to Franz Ferdinand: the then crown prince comitted suicide with his mistress in his refuge outside Vienna before 1900); (3) I think that he indeed did run his country smoothly, Erika, though I also wish to add that he rarely had significant other possibilities ...

Yep, even I can't argue with that.

We the Poles considered the rule of Germany, Russia and Austro-Hungary as occupation, but Austro-Hungary was definitally considered the best of them all and Franz Joseph was respected even among his Polish subjects.
