How did a discussion of adding a smilie become a discussion of which smilies to get rid of?

Snoopy says it well, if one must be gotten rid of......but I don't see any reason for this. I can see uses for the popcorn smilie and others that have been proposed, but I don't see any reason to get rid of any (all have their uses).

I like the fact I started a 'riot' against current smilies.


I think the popcorn smilie is great and will add a ton to our forum, instead of the wierd grey smilie for instance.
