So how about just moving the worker at FB off the 1-3-0 mineral tile to the 2-0-1 rainy/river tile to the east? we don't need the mins to complete the former

On the other side the mins would have carried over to the next production item though. Also we'd have a higher return from the stockpile energy bug: 1 or 2 credits extra (don't know if it rounds up or down).

and the extra nut helps with the base growth

Do we really want that base to grow? I assumed we were trying to slow down growth of our size 2 bases (as we can't control the extra drones). And that this was why you for example switched an SC4 worker from a 2-2-0 to a 1-2-1 forest, with the only difference a loss of one nut, as the extra energy is wasted due to inefficiency.

We'll already have trouble enough dealing with the current bases nearing size 3 or 4: SC2, SC3, GH, SC2, SC1: all having to build colony pods non-stop or accepting that the next worker will be a useless doctor. Why add another base to that list if we can prevent it by working a very productive mineral tile?

Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

Well, at some point we're going to have to bite the bullet and grow our pop, or risk being relegated, along with the Gaians and the Angels, to bystanders as Morgan, the Hive and, to a lesser extent (if we have anything to say on the matter), the Uni-PK alliance, vie for supremacy

Even if that means building some rec commons in our fast-growth bases

True, but currently we have many other needs. Crawlers to hurry a secret project. Formers to build terraformations, so we can place new workers and crawlers. Probes and transports for future missions... For those we need lots of minerals now.

That's why I'd personally prefer to work the 1-3-0 to get 3 more minerals per year right now, rather than having an extra pop in ten years. Hell, with those 30 extra minerals in the next ten years we could build one more crawler, and harvest resources from the 1-3-0 or another square. That's cheaper than a 40-mineral rec commons to support another worker in ten years time.
More turn advantage!

Increase Your PM Length

The change was only meant for this one turn, as the former was already completed withiout its help I'm 100% in favour of working that tile normally (esp after it gets its forest up and running)

I see, thanks.
Never mind my above post then.
