Here's the drill, without the fluff - I'm finishing the map now and would like input from all potentials:
Game Concept
-“The World is Flat”. Actually a round map of the Eastern hemisphere, as if Columbus' journey were to find a route to Asia, and nothing else
-Specialty flags offered
-No arbitrary point system. No invasion limitations.
Civilizations
-Euro (Start in/around Germany)
-Afikan (Starts in/around Zimbabwe)
-Indus (Starts in/around Fertile India)
-Asiatic (Starts in/around Fertile China)
Plus one of the below if we have 5 players:
-Caucasus (Starts on northeast edge of Caspain sea. **** land, closest to middle east oil)
-Oceanic (Starts on Australia, which will be given a fertility facelift if there is an Oceanic player)
Featured Rules
-1x1x, Custom, Emperor or Deity
-2 Settler start
-No city bribe
-No Huts
-1.5 tech Paradigm
-8 external trade routes per civ
-Extended Oracle (Industrialization)
-Tech trading only when each offered tech was discovered by respective Civ
INITIAL DISCOVERY OF THESE 3 TECHS HAS THE HOST CHANGE THE RULES TEXT AND RE-LOAD WITH CORRESPONDING RESOURCE VALUE:
-Iron Working, Iron goes from 4shields/0trade worth --> 4shields/2 trade worth
-Industrialization, Coal goes from 4shields/0trade worth -->5shields/4trade worth
-Automobile, Oil goes from 4shields/0trade --> worth 10shields/10trade worth
-No terraforming; ie.) use of added engineer options. You may chop forest, hack jungle, grow forest all you want. Explosive based terrain forming = off limits. Obviously farmland and rail are allowed
Unit Changes
-Diplomat cost 60
-Legion 6/2 pike flag, 50 (or 60?) shield cost
-Modern military unit Index. What was to be used in Eurodip
Justification
Starting positions are thus far quite equidistant from the ~5~ oil middle east. Discrepencies in distance to reach said territory is made up subtly by land fertility. There will be at least one LOCAL oil for each civilization. Coal is a little more plentiful, but also dotted with fairness in mind. The chosen resource seed helps with this wonderfully.
First draft of map available tommorrow for your critiques, suggestions, and changes - in pursuit of a leveled playing field.

0900 EST = 1400 GMT = 0000 Aust. EST
That works perfectly for me, can do anything earlier up to 0200 GMT.
When discussing times can we please talk in GMT? Makes an easy logical point of reference and everyone can then just make one conversion to your own time zone.
How do we pick/claim our tribe?
If it's first in I'll take Oceania.

well here's the map so all interested take a look and begin deciding. Oceania would definitely be the toughest of choices and sensible only in the event of a full 6 player game, but if you still wish - it's yours
the map will still undergo a few rounding out adjustments before Sunday's start - feedback is appreciated
so for confirmed players I believe it's Dylan, myself, Dank and Cyber. it'd be nice to get two more. I'll take last choice of civ

Ok I'm ready for whatever time the majority wants. I will take the Purple civ but I take it we don't have to keep the name because I will be calling it The Black Hoard (I read to much fantsy novels...lol) Other then that I'm ready to rock with it!!!

Australia is a bit distorted, but playable. If there's less than six I'll take europe then, otherwise Oceania stands.
How long a session are people up for? 4-5 hours is probably my limit for a single session

Distorted?? Do you mean terrain wise, or the form itself? I outlined the map like a fingerprint from a scale true form map of the world

Western Australia just seems to be elongated, assuming south is actually straight down. But then I don't have the time to do the geography to accurately prove anything, so I'll happily play it like it is.
Yes, start time needed soon - definitely before I go out friday night. Need to make sure I'm home in time for sunday eve.

We are scheduled for a 9amEST start time THIS Sunday, November the 14th. Does this work for every player?

Are you all able and willing to move it a day earlier - Saturday, November the 13th @9:00am? This would allow Deity to join us as a 6th and final player
We need confirmation of ability for this Sunday from every player, and a follow up on whether or not you are willing to see it moved to Saturday. Then, your choice of civ. If all are confirmed for Sunday but even one of us can't do the alternative Saturday - Sundays will be finalized as game day

Sorry, Saturday 0900 EST is my saturday night, totally out the question. I've got a DJ gig and a band I'm managing is playing this saturday. Dance performance the next. The list goes on - I have one free saturday eve left in december.
However 0900 EST Sunday is great, I'll confirm for that one, and claim again Oceania.
