For those guys who have money enough to buy other strategy games next to Civ3 and CTP2
There's European Universalis, a game that has some similarities with imperialism2, but is much much bigger and complex, just check it out www.europa-universalis.com
The creators of railroad tycoon2 are about to release a game that looks a bit like it but has an entirly different concept, namely being dictator of a small Latin-American country with political intrigue and economy building. www.poptop.com/tropico.htm

They're both real-time but not the C&C type of real time, with focus on relatively short missions and tactical battles. European Universalis is probably the most complex strategy game being made, more complex than Imperialism (for those who know it) and far more complex then the civilization games. (perhaps excluding Clash of Civilisation which is very interesting as well)
Just check the site and the forum then you'll see by yourself.
About Tropico I don't know a lot, only that it's an economic-political game in the railroad tycoon 2 environment.
PS: I've fixed the link
