Yes, the best RTS game I have ever played finally gets its very own thread!! The game, to put it bluntly, kicks ass. The videos are awesome, the units are cool, and I picked up a good Russian accent from Stalin's ramblings!! Especially Gredenko... now HE had an accent... Actually, the Soviet endgame was a shameless plug for Command&Conquer when Kane came in. But it was cool that he was just using the Soviets to conquer the continent, then they just killed Stalin and took over. And Stalin called Nadia a b*tch!! All right, swearing!!!

Yep, got converted to Stalinism on the spot once I played Red Alert. Kicks ass. Bought the soundtrack. LONG LIVE RED ALERT!.

I am sorry but Starcraft beats C&C in just about every aspect. Even C&C2. I played C&C 2 for about 5 minutes and got completely bored. I still play starcraft even though it is 2 years old. I also played the original C&C and the way SC handles gathering resources is so much better than C&C. Also SC's interface is just so much better than C&C. It just sucks that you can not build more than one unit at once. Even if you have more than one of that building. Also starcraft has 3 completely different races and C&C has 2 that are almost identical. That is just my opinion.

I don't know what Starcraft is, but I heard it's very similar to Warcraft. I soon get my own pirate... er, 'legal' copy soon.

Played it, beat it, hated it. - I mean, c'mon, did the Allies forget how to make grenades? They've only been in use for oh, 300 years or so.
- Why doesn't the cheesy James Bondish spy have his Beretta to pop those bloody annoying dogs? At least he should be able to slay them with his razor wit.
- A tank with two guns has gotta be better than a tank with one gun, right?
- Well, I could go on.

And even though the Russians have Mammoth Tanks and V2 launchers, they can't build Rocketmen?

I personally think that Red Alert is the best RTS ever, running circles around StarCraft (Which was a boring, reptetive, crap-looking mess) and AoK (Which was too much like AoE (Which I didn't like at all)). No, red alert had the units, the gameplay and the multiplayer/skirmish fun.

Yes, starcraft isn't the prettiest game out there, but gameplay, gameplay, gameplay. There is a reason there is still lots of people playing starcraft.
Three balanced races (still being tweaked by blizzard), 9 strategies to master. No starcraft unit ever becomes obsolete. Red alert is just build a lot of tanks, draw a retangle at click "attack"
Starcraft is the chess of RTS games where RA is just this years flashy fasion game from the local toy store.
