Senator Optimus Betamus dusts off his bench in the senate ...... He glances up to where Chief Administrator Paddimus Sternium looks down from his chair on a raised dais, to the right of the Emperor's chair. Paddimus, true to his name, looks down his long nose sternly at Betamus, and gives an almost imperceptable nod. Betamus can't help but think to himself - "You know, if you put a smile on that face, and a pint of ale in his hand, and drop the fancy garb, and damn, Paddimus Sternium could be the twin brother of the barkeep down at the Weed." Betmamus quickly puts such silly notions from his mind, and prepares to focus on the serious business of the senate. Although the thought of a pint of ale lingers ....
