#6 De La Hoya -
#7 Douglas Adams - Go and bring irrigation to the wine
#8 Faygo -
#9 Sars - Go and bring irrigation to the wine
#10 Slave Goatse.cx - Road here (or, as an idea, have him go and build a colony on top of one of the furs, however, I don't think that is the best use we have for him.)

City Orders
#1 Apolyton – wf 3,4,12 (Give them the cows for the food – Switch to Settler (in 3)
#2 Hypnos – wf 2,8,19 - Switch to Zeus (in 20) or Mausoleam of Mausollous (in 20) (or palace (in 30) to hide it or to switch to the GL later. Consul choice, but I lean towards the Mausoleum)
#3 Poseidon's Harbor - wf 1,7,8 – Settler (in 5). Will steel the cows later on to pop out the settler in 4
#4 Naked Aphrodite - wf 2,3,19 (no changes) - Settler (in 4)
#5 Olympus - wf 1,2,6 - Keep on making the grainary with the intention of purchasing it ASAP, or switch immediately to a settler. Consul choice (I would keep the grainary).
#6 Stable of Hermes – wf 14 – Switch to Harbor
#7 Sidiros Lofos – wf 5,8 – Switch to Courthouse, grainary, temple or Harbor. Consul choice. I am tempted to start on the collosus with the hope that we have a chance with our GA of making it in time. However, this is a very unproductive city and will be for a long time.
#8 Draco - wf 3 - Grainary in 20

PAL has the save, and has indicated they will most likely get it to us today. I will be home a bit late, but will be there (7pm local time).

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Well I will be unable to do anything with the save for quite some time, probably not until 3 or 4am EST. I can of course play then if orders are posted and unambiguous, but if there is the chance to play with at least GK in chat, then I suggest that Octy or Togas do this. I'd like to have my input (and will give it if time permits during the day), but I don't seriously think I will have much time.

Got spare money?

I looked at adjusting the science rate. I didn't feel it was worth it unless we disbanded enough forces to be able to make it worth wild.

I'm here, and can probably play the save tonight. For now, I'll wait a bit to see if someone else shows up.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

My hurried suggestions in case the save IS played (although GK asks us to hold it until he's had some time - I strongly suggest we should do this; it's not every turn we reach a new government and a GA, so I think a delay this turn is justified....):

  • Don't use the lux slider to keep the peace - just have a scientist or taxman in Naked Aphro, the only city that needs it

  • We are in our GA as CDG disbanded their former capital Zarigueya, moved along the road with a Spearman, attacked our southern stack and lost to a Hoplite Ixion. You can tell because Ixion is down one hp.

  • We must continue to seek and destroy CDG Galleys, especially the one spotted to the south near the AS Pelagia.

  • Rearrange wf in Apolyton to be 10 spt, or something less - 9spt is wasteful. Ditto Hypnos. A settler in Apolyton might be a better idea, we need to get cities up FAST to take advantage of the GA and so we can start to get more free upkeep for our bloated army (compared with our civ size)

  • It may be time to disband some Regs, ie Diomede and Con the Meek. Archers Bellerophon and Zeno may prove to be useless too when the Swordmen return home. This would save us 8 gpt and allow us to start using science (but still not very well)

Seeing as GK has yet come, I won't do anything per his request, though mostly because I still had some homework to get through...

I'd be able to get the save tomorrow, though after about 7pm EST.

Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I have posted orders, so just follow them. Thanks for the wait folks, I do appreciate it. The WF changes are the most important. I was focusing mostly on food, with secondary priority towards shields. We need the settlers in order to fill in the land ASAP. I hate settler production in a GA, but I do not see the choice.

Do not disband units unless they are in a city. That way, we gain the minimal shields they have to give us.

By the end of our GA, I expect us to be even with PAL as of this time (prior to their GA and the Pyramids) in regards to science and gold, if not ahead of them.

Our goal is to 1)make more cities 2) markets (as we gain the tech) 3) courthouses for our cities in the second ring from teh capitol and 4) a wonder or 2. Libraries will be important, but b/c we are scientific, they come after the markets. Besides, we probably will not have the tech until the end of our GA.

I think that Apolyton should be producing the wonder [stealthly for a few turns] and Hypons producing the settler.
Appolyton is on a river and can grow past size 6.
It doesn't look like Hypos is on a river.

apolyton is our only city with a grainary, and our intentions were to disband it to cause a palace jump later on.

I was thinking that Poseidon's Harbor had the most approative city name for the Colossus.

Turn Results

Played at 4:50am GMT using posted orders

PAL Gifts us Mapmaking and Polytheism. Accepted.

Choose government REPUBLIC

We are in the 1st turn of our Golden Age.

CDG has only 1 city left, CityWithoutAName. It is pop 1. we have no units next to it.

PAL horsemen run all along the CDG river, spread out to search for straglers.

The road between us and PAL has been cut and we are not getting luxes from PAL. We need to reestablish contact with PAL soon so that we can grow our Golden Age cities!

Units
Stack 2 -- northern division (5 swords, 1 archer, 2 Hoplite) moves 4. We must move this stack back in range to strike CWOAN if necessary.

Horseman Bucephalus moves 2 2 searching for possible CDG straglers and/or galleys.

Stack 1 -- southern division (3 sword, 2 Hoplite) moves 4. Also returning home.

Atlas (hoplite) moves 1 to join Stack 1.

Horseman Paris moves 4 onto hills. Preparing to return home and heal in a barracks.

Grog sees barbarian hut to the south and FORTS to heal.

Anthea moves 3.

curraghs
Pelagia 2 6, nothing sighted.
Nerissa 3 3 nothing sighted.
Kitchen Sink 2 3 nothing sighted.
Valient 9 6 nothing sighted. This curragh will do northern coastal mapping for us.

workers
goatse.cx ROADS the CDG horse tile.
Douglas Adams 3 3 Irrigate
Sars 3 3 Irrigate

cities
Hypnos WF to 3, 8, 19, tax. NO GROWTH. This is a size 4 city with 2 unhappy citizens. With the need to move one of our workers, the city is now stagnant and will remain so unless we use the lux slider! The city is building PALACE (prebuild).

Poseidon WF to 1, 7, 8. Growth in 3, and then it will need lux slider. It is building SETTLER.

Naked WF (2, 3, 19, tax ... no changes). NO GROWTH. Settler will be built in 4 turns.

Apolyton WF to 3, 4, 12. 4fpt. 10spt. Settler in 3, but growth in 2 ... heck, it can lose most of it's food and still grow in 2, but it will need luxes in 2 turns.

Olympus WF to 1, 2, 6. 5fpt! Growth in 1, then it will need lux. Still building Granary.

Stable WF to 14. Set to build harbor.

Sidiros WF to 5, 8. Changed to courthouse.

Draco WF (3) building granary.

NOTES:
No CDG galleys sighted anywhere!

15gpt while at 100% tax. That should keep us in the black If we add 10% lux or sci, we will be at 7gpt. However, 20% spending puts us at -3gpt. We have to choose one or the other. My vote is we go with 10% lux once we get more than 2 cities at pop 4.

As it would take us too long to get Currency, we have abandoned that research project and need to urge PAL to undertake it. If they cannot, then they need to fund our research of it so that we can remain in the black.

We really do need that fur luxury to deal with our limited city size. Perhaps a colony is a wise move once a road has been built out there. Or perhaps we just need to get a road to PAL done ASAP!
