	Release Date.... Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, or is obvious, but i've been away from this board for nearly a year.

When do they plan to release #4?? (the reason i ask is cause I'm lookin for a new game and wondering if i should wait or if ya'll think its worth the wait).

Probably Fall '05, but there's no way to be sure until they actually announce something official.

Most computer games are released longe ennough before Christmas to be on everybodies whish list, and close ennough to not be replaced on that list by another game. Also there are mostly info made public abot the game sometime before release to teaser the potential buyers. Alos judging from history, Civ3 was announced in 99 and released in fall 01.

Based on that I'd say fall 2005.

I know that they mentioned their wish to not rush the product. So this may mean a bit more time than what was up to now "usual".

So if Gramphos says that usual=2 years, it may mean a bit more.

I thought I wanted it to be released by the end of next year as expected, but now I think if a delay means more chance of my ideas or other peoples ideas getting in, then a delay is cool. Fall 2006 might be good. And because of how far along they apparently are, maybe the extra fan ideas they could use in that time would be several prepackaged scenarios, maybe premade maps, maybe even more designed civilizations. Some of the things I'm the most interested in.

I do not believe that it means puting APOLYTON fans ideas in. Firaxis is sensible to a global market constituted of all the world's fans, most of them not looking for the same ideal game as Apolyton dwellers.

Thanks guys!! I remember when 3 was supposed to be released and that got postponed for nearly 2 years. So i guess i look for another (similar) game. Any suggestions (i don't mind RTS if they are really good).

Alpha Centauri if you never played it (very old, very good. It's vintage)

Galactic Civilizations! Now! Anyway, it's extrrremely good and the expansion pack is out (Altarian Prophecy).

If you are a serious player, Supreme Ruler 2010 will be out in some months...


It all depends on what you're searching for.
