Yes, yes. Other games. However, from the name of this forum it seems as though Civ Comparison should be part of the order of the day. Yet it seems missing. Forgive an ignorant newcomer, but why is no-one comparing Civs in here?

I think a lot of the comparison (and sometimes bashing) takes place in the individual game forums and this one ends up being primarily an "Other Games" forum.
Personally, I'd rate the games you mention (from best to worst) SMAC, ToT, and CtP (a distant 3rd).
Now, if you threw Civ II in I'd rate that first. I'd say that Civ II is at the pinnacle of the civ game family.
