Grr. I like Atari. It has nostalgic value from my family's computer when I was a kid. I thought Atari and Civ were a good match. I read elsewhere the other day about Firaxis wanting to hire some new people. Considering what positions they needed filled, it sounded positive, but maybe it isn't. I guess it would be unrelated to the Atari thing. Could this cause the exact same problems that Civ3 had?

Can't be worse for the game than Atari.

As people are saying, it's likely that Firaxis itself is the buyer. But I guess we should discuss this in the thread in the Off Topic forum.

You almost make it sound like my word is the confirmation, which of course would be ludicrous.

I agree this is a better place for it, but I just thought the Off Topic thread should be used because there's more activity over there.

Let me inform you. The franchise has been bought by PARADOX, the maker of Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Crusader Kings, Victoria and which recently bought "Diplomacy" and "Squad Leader" rights too.
