I thought I was going to be the first one to post this demand

We must counterbalance the creep of the "beginning of the X-mas season" which has continually advanced into November - even into October I noticed when shopping for Haloween decorations!!!! The solution is to stop any X-mas activites, decoration, etc by Jan 2.

oh, and BAH HUMBUG!

Twelfth Night/Epiphany is a more common reason that decorations are kept up until the 6/7th of Jan.

My family has always had a tradtion of taking out the Christmas decorations on the 20th day of Christmas, ie 13th January.

Nah, first it's tradition(although my mum claims she wants to get it out NOW and not later, the tree f.ex. takes too mcuh place...). Second, it's an old tradition, but it's not like everyone does it anymore.
