You have to do a few missions before weapons are provided for you, or you can run around and find the hidden weapons. Just in the Grove Street culdesac there are brass knuckles and a pistol. The brass knuckles are under the bridge, and the pistol is snugged next to the fence and wall behind Sweet's house.
There is also a tec-9 on top of Sweets house.

I just stick to normal ps2 controls on normal ps2 settings.

The coolset thing so far, other than using the jet pack to slide on the roads like darth vader or somehting, is hitman level with sawn off shotguns! You get two sawn offs!!! Uber cool! Uber violent!

Tired of ads?

I don't have a huge problem with the gamepad. I'd prefer to use mouse + keyboard, but oh well. The game is still AWESOME AS HELL with a gamepad.

So far, I've had the most fun jacking the pimp car and then doing the pimp missions. I love having to beat the crap out of a John who won't pay.

I just got into the Gang missions... HOLY **** THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!

I love going into rival gang territories and starting gang wars. But first I load up like 5 or 6 friendly gang members, then proceed on foot to the territory.

This might be the best game I've ever played.

oh yeah, and Halo 2 is **** compared to this. ROFL!!! I pity those poor Xbox owners who can't play GTA:San Andreas.

I just got to the next island. I wish I knew how to hide my writing, so that I won't spoil it.
The gmae gets a bit more fun when you get there. I'm just happy to be done racing lowriders. (I was, until I found my self in the same situation only on the second island.)
The coolest thing about the second island, is that there is a mountain. ANd the coolest thing to do on the mountain is to jump a motorcycle ( PCJ or Sanchez are best) off of the top of the mountain. Like double sawnofffs UBER COOOL!
Also, the "lady" (a certain somebody's cousin) who you rob stores with makes the game funny. I really like the character chemistry that they built up for C.J. and her.
One thing though, is that now I have WAYY more area to cover, and it takes forever on a bike, or in a car. Even with the Jetpack, I feel like It is forever, but I guess that that is the curse of a huge map.
I kind of wish the cities were bigger, but I haven't unlocked the third island yet.
Now my ps2 is on the fritz, and so I can't pause the game or walk inside of any building with out it freezing! SH*T!!!!!

True dat homey!

I did notice what I thought to be quite a funny typo in the the game. Wen you get further on in the story line, you meet this hippy guy who tenpenny is hooked up with. At the end of one of the cutscenes, he is doing some yoga stretch or somehting, and says "Amaste!" as you leave. The correct pronounciation of this is, Namaste (see my sig for help). It is Hindu IIRC and means "The divintiy in me bows to the divinity in you."
I haven't tried the truck driving missions yet, but I hope to as soon as my Ps2 works again. Either way, the intro mission, (takes place with the "someone's cousin" that I mentioned) is pretty easy if you get out and kill the cracker who is trying to cap you.
(BTW is there a place where I can take my PS2 to be fixed?)

the pimp car can be found around Little Mexico or El Corona... it's a convertable low-rider... You know the gang car that they drive around that area? Well look for a convertable version. That's the pimp car. The pimp missions are like taxi missions, only you get to beat up some guys that don't pay. After you complete all the pimp missions, the hookers pay you for sex.

THAT IS AWESOME!

GOURANGA! is from GTA1, I think... 1 or 2... I forget. But anyways, there would be a line of monks walking down the street, and if you ran them all down in order, it would say "GOURANGA!" in really big letters. You have to see it to understand.

you should go back and play it just to see GOURANGA!!!

it's hilarious...

but back on topic...

I'm stuck on the mission "Supply Lines" in San Fierro. It's bullshit, you have to kill 5 couriers with a remote controlled airplane. The controls are hard, but what's even worse is that I run out of fuel after killing the 5th guy EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME. I've played the mission about 15 times and can't get it. I've looked at online guides that tell me two different ways to beat the mission. I've followed the guides to a T, but still can't beat it.

I HATE THIS ****ING MISSION.

Supply Lines isn't required to advance the story.

One technique that I've heard works well is to kill the 3 couriers near your start location, and then land on a roof and wait for the other two to come closer to you so you don't waste fuel.

thanks ixnay, I'll try that.

Sparrowhawk: Just be aware this game is rated M for Mature. There is so pretty graphic stuff in the game. I wouldn't be concerned if it were my 15 year old, but still, just be aware of what is in this game... gang wars, running down innocent pedestrians, killing criminals and others...
