As a matter of fact, let me post an email I sent to some friends just mere days ago...
quote:
So;
As some of you know, I live in Operations Berthing on the ship. Operations department includes us, The OS's (radarwatchers), the ITs (I'm sure you'll be able to figure out what they do), and Deck. Deck is where you go if you're too stupid to work in supply. Most of the time, anyway. Usually you've had some trouble with the law in the past as well.
Anywho, since this deployment started there has been some problem with theft in our Berthing. The Command's policy has been, basically, "If you left it unlocked, tough noogies". But if someone actually tried to break into your locker, that was a whole 'nother animal.
Well, finally an Officer got something of his stolen. He left his iPod sitting out in the wardroom (The officer's mess/lounge are) and it disappeared. Then it got sold around (how it got disappeared from the Wardroom is a chin-scratcher), including one deck guy and two OS's. Apperently, the trail stopped there. So, what was the command's solution (remember, in the past the command had told enlisted people it was their own damn fault something got stolen if it was left out)? The Operation's department officer's and Chiefs flipping tore up berthing looking for it. And in the process, one of those jackholes (I believe it was the ensign who has a degree in Art History) broke the fan coil unit (AC).
Try to understand, where we are, it is exceedingly hot. As it became hotter, the Wall of Knowledge that is our officers(most of them, anyway) determined that the iPod in question was not in OPS berthing. (no ****, sherlock) And, as it just so happened the Engineers have a grim view on the repairability of the FCU, as they just replaced the part in question on the FCU in their berthing. They got it going, but it's giving off just enough cold air to not turn it into an oven. As it is, it is merely a Sauna.
Damn but I hate this command.

And Che, just because I say so doesn't mean it's false.
Dubai was better than bahrain and Muscat, but it isn't like they have much competition when it comes to modern cities.
