Well, according to news from the developers site at http://crisium.com/ they are in beta now.

Probably a couple of months to go, but it should be well worth the wait!

BTW, I just looked at EBWorld again, the release date has been moved to 10/31.

Well, with the disappointing demo for "Reach For The Stars" and the equally disappointing Gamespot Review I am now pinning my hopes for a decent space empire game on "Stars! Supernova Genesis". The release date is still 10/31 according to EBWorld and I just noticed that there is also a Gamespot Preview that was posted a little while ago.

I really HOPE that Stars! does not let us down!

It looks like they're going to a lot of effort with it. They've got a huge cult following to appease, and if those gamers don't like it, the game will flop. For that reason, the developers can't afford to let anything go.

I'm reasonably confident that it'll be a top notch game. Fingers crossed.

I'm a bit worried about the battle engine thing but hey I'm sure they'll do good. RFTS was very disappointing but SSNG looks much more deep. Please let it be good

MOO3 looks great because finally the people have some affect on the economy and trade and politics and war. Amazing!

EBWorld has slipped their availability date again. Now it's 11/15.

I checked the release date for SSnG about a week ago and it had slippped to 12/15(?) or there abouts, and when I checked again today I noticed it had moved out to 1/31/01!

These dates are taken from the EBWorld website, I realize that EBWorld is not a final authority but generally they are pretty good.

What worries me though is that all too often when these types of slips occur it is because of game play problems, and as often as not the maker will release the game when it really shouldn't be. I PRAY that doesn't happen with this game! PLEASE!
