I think this should be the GM's call, if I recall correctly earlier in this game you corrected gjramsey's orders with a similar error. Past precedent suggest you do the same (either fix it or allow him to adjust it).
Having said this in the previous game (with a different GM) I sent in orders that mixed up my R and L (I should have put in a RL and I did a LR instead which put me off track. Catching up cost me the game, but I agree completely with the decision to put me off track, I am the one that sent in the orders, it was my mistake.
I think this is what makes Nascar the game it is, if the GM corrects our errors, we reduce the game to a strategy of when to use our wildcards (and somewhat when to accelerate and when to brake, but this is somewhat limited). I think we need to have the GM process the orders as received but with the precendent set earlier this game I would understand if we applied that to the next game.
One other point, I don't think it should matter what place someone is in, the orders should apply the same in any situation in my humble opinion.
