Chapter 7 – All good things must come to an end
“I don’t know about the others, but I wasn’t convinced by Jon Miller’s explanation”, Hercules said.
“I agree. His excuse was lame. Let’s vote him out”, Nikolai supported Hercules because he too was possible suspect because he supposedly saw nothing.
The others thought likewise and the vote was very conclusive. All votes cast were for Jon Miller.
When the majority was reached, Jon Miller understood that nothing he could have said would have saved him so he opened his heart.
“All right, you caught me! But at least I’m happy to die knowing I have dispatched the worst spammers of our forum. Death to spammers! Long live true posters!”
The others still couldn’t believe they actually got it right this time and caught the killer.
“Why did you kill all those people”, Kassiopeia asked.
“I hated them for spamming! I despise those filthy spammers! I’m the Original Anti-Spam, you know.”
Jon Miller started to rave.
“For years I’ve been proud of my achievements as the true poster, not spammer.”
He glared at Kassiopeia. It was a mad man’s glare.
“But deep in the bottom of my heart I envied them. I was jealous of the spammers’ abilities to spam so much and increase their post count. I wanted to do that so much and yet I hated it, so I had to kill them all. I was planning to kill myself in the end.”
“Well, I guess that’s one thing we’ll do for you”, Theben commented.
“You spammer”, Jon Miller gave Theben a sharp look.
Theben acted as if he didn’t notice.
“Yes you, Theben, you were next on my list. Oh how I enjoyed your little spamming contest with ADG. I’m only sorry I didn’t have time to spice it up with some sort of tropical fruit if you catch my drift.”
“I believe you’ll catch your drift soon enough”, Adagio said.
Jon Miller was taken to the nearby cliff where his legs and hands were tied together. He was then pushed off the cliff just before the start of a tropical storm.
*******
No more murders occurred and two days later after the authorities confirmed Jon Miller’s guilt the participants of the Grand Poly Meet were free to go. They departed in haste for you never know when the next mafia might prey on his victims.
