MOI absence thread

Here are some general guidelines to follow for the single turn that will probably happen for the week while I am gone.

Settlers – go to the most productive sites first. Production is not just shields, it is a combination of shields, food and gold. Take into account corruption and our distance from the capitol. Except for fur city, do not send any settlers to sites on the coast of the bay, per our preliminary talks with PAL. Do not send any settlers north of the Meeting Mountain line, again, per our talks with PAL. If for some reason this cannot be followed, make sure PAL knows about it and why we are deviating.

Workers – try and focus on cities that have the population to use the improvements. Food is priority, followed by shields and then gold. Keep workers in 2 unit stacks EXCEPT for when they are road building. Then, place them in either 3 unit stacks or individually. If we somehow catch some workers, either through trading with PAL or CDG screwing up, keep them in stacks appropriate for their work efficiency.

City workforce – in our cities that are settler producers (Poly & Olympus), focus more on food. Other cities focus more on shields. Watch the cows near poly, and keep trading them to make it most efficient. Poly gets priority, as it should be a dedicated settler factory for a while.

Production – any city that is 10 or more tiles from our capitol should build a courthouse, library then market (get the use of the library as it is cheep to purchase and makes culture). Any city that is closer than 10 should build a market, harbor (if applicable) then a library. Any city site that is going to have 4+ pop should use tax men to supplement their production until such time as the item under production is complete. Switch to a settler to use pop control as much as possible. Purchase as many courthouses and markets as possible. These pay back in short order their purchase price. Purchase settlers as well if possible.

Aim to get literature at 30% science in 8 or less turns. Send to PAL as soon as researched. We should be getting currency from PAL in 3-4 turns.

Con and WIA are taking over any discussions with PAL regarding borders. With the holidays, I do not expect this to move fast. Don’t panic.

Consuls have full discretion, as always, to make and do whatever they would like. First person to post in this thread hereby can act as my deputy in my absence (sucker).
