Use of img tags. Get a bigger avatar today!

Ok, so I'm a fuctard but I can't figure out how to properly link a picture using the img tags. Another website I visit doesn't host avatars and instead asks that you link the avatar using img tags to their website. It's kind of cheap but I'm willing to do it if I can figure out how.

I'm assuing I'd use (img=url/file name)(/img) only with the correct brackets instead of parenthisis. I'm trying to like my avatar on this site to the other site using the picture in my user profile. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it.

I'm not sure if you are talking about vbulletin post or a webpage.

use this for webpages. http://www.pageresource.com/html/image1.htm

I believe vbulletin versions allow use of [ img ] and [ /img ] before and after the file details. Just elimate the spaces.

Isn't there an option when posting a new message, to ignore codes? Not sure where it is though...

Nope.
This also goes for XHTML 1.0 Transitional. The "alt" attribute is even required in HTML 4.01 Transitional. Considering the Apolyton forum pages are declared as such...

You should also provide the width and the height, just in case some surfer comes in through a slow link, so his browser can render the rest of the page without waiting for the image to finish loading.

Probably has to do with some other 'languages' ( for example XML) being case-sensitive.

this is true, we have green grass all over the place. As long as you keep watering it, it stays green. Although bermuda grass won't be green in the winter. But most people get fescue grass. It requires more water, but stays green year round.

as for this picture, I have no idea where it was taken. I got it off a google search. I originally posted it in another thread.

I find it much easier to read when tags are uppercase. Case-sensitive doesn't automatically mean lowercase

Lower case writings tend to be easier to read because of the ascenders and descenders.

Yes but in HTML you'd also want to quickly seperate the tags from the text. The style from the content.
so it'd be easier if <UPPERCASE>Content is a <U>mixture</U> of <B>UPPER</B> and lowercase</UPPERCASE>

instead of: <uppercase>Content is a <u>mixture</u> of <b>UPPER</b> and lowercase</uppercase>

I used to prefer uppercase tags as well. I've done my share of swearing about it back when I decided to change over to XHTML. But you get used to it. I have no problems with it now. Just use a decent text editor with syntax highlighting.

That shouldn't be too hard you just scan for the angular brackets.
