Rule Re-Write Notebook Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

This is a thread for me to keep track of stuff I've gotten re-written, but have not yet "gotten to" in terms of the actual re-write thread.

13.0 Influence
As discussed previously, the uses of Influence with the Church are manifold, but these uses tend to reveal themselves as the game is played out (reciept of various Acts of Fate will introduce an increasing array of uses for Influence as a form of "currency"), but the primary use of Influence is to buy "Intercessions" from the Church, which forces an attacker to stay his hand, and not attack a province.

Methodology
Intercessions may be requested at any point during any of your turns. The baseline cost for an Intercession is 20 Influence, but this cost may be modified, depending on your Honor Level [Reference the section on Honor and Infamy for exact prices at every Honor Level].

To request an Intercession, simply right click on any province on the map. The province need not be controlled by you to be a valid target of Intercession Requests.

One of the options you will see when you right click on a Province is "Request Intercession" - Left clicking on this option will bring up a pop-up saying

"An Intercession here will cost you [YOUR COST] Influence." (accept/decline buttons here).

Accepting the price places an "Intercession Marker" on the province in question. You can see any intercession markers YOU have placed by (need a button or filter to activate/de-activate this feature).

The first attack launched by any player other than you, into the province protected by the Intercession Marker will be aborted, and the attacking player receives the following message:

"By decree of the J'honsa, HighFather of the Gods, this attack is an affront to the Holy Church, and is rendered void!"

All movement points of any units participating in the attack are set to 0 for the remainder of the turn, and the units are returned to their Province(s) of origin. There is no option to contest the Church's decision.

Notes:
* At certain (high) levels of Honor, Honorable players DO gain the option of contesting the decision of the Church (a "contest" button appears on the aforementioned pop-up). Contesting the decision requires that the player Contesting pay an amount of Influence equal to double what the placing player paid for the Intercession. If this price is paid, then the attack proceeds normally.

* Also at certain (high) levels of Honor, Honorable player gain the ability to request Intercessions at the start of battle, in lieu of casting a spell.

* At certain (low) levels of Influence, the Infamous player is considered such a pariah that the Church ceases to hold any sway over him or her (and at this point, said player may no longer purchase Intercessions at any price). Thus, for that player, Intercession Requests no longer function at all to block or prevent their attacks.

[Reference Honor and Infamy section regarding particulars here].

Other Uses of Influence
In addition to the above, and uses brought into play by receipt of various Acts of Fate, Influence is also used to "cast" Miracles from the sphere of Spells bearing that same name [Reference Magic section regarding Miracles and their various costs].

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

Not sure where to put this yet, but:

Right clicking on any province brings up the choice to request an intercession.

If you control the province, it also brings up the option to "enter" the province (brings up province screen).

If you control the province, the option to hire mercs appears here.

If you control the province, and there are corruption counters present IN the province, a right click will bring up the option to "Conduct Investigation" in that province, in an attempt to remove one or more corruption counters.

If you control the Province and there is a barracks present IN the province, then a right click will bring up the option to "Train Troops."

If you do NOT control the Province, you have the option to "Hire Informant" at that location.

There will be others...this is just a place for me to keep track of what all the options are/will be (and many will be dependent on buildings present, and tech level)
