There might be a reload message, as I hit the password then saved and exited as I had screwy resolution (back to my own rig and monitor set-up in Vancouver after wintering in the south - the AC screen was just the top left quarter of my full screen which I had set to 1600 x 1200, and I couldn't make out any details!!)
I reset my screen resolution, then opened the save, but it put it back to the old res, so I just quit on the game - the settings must have become embedded somehow in the gamesave
I didn't get a message when I tried again from scratch, but I've seen that before in the ACDG game - the player sometimes doesn't get it if there's been a midturn save (which I did) but subsequent players get a message.
But no harm, no foul, as I didn't do anything first time anyway, as I couldn't see much on the screen with my flaky res.
