recently I have been ending up on an island almost every time I play a random map game.. By an island I mean a landmass with room for only six or less cities and this when some of them are quite close. Is their anything I'm doing to cause this? I usualy play games with the deafult settings on transcend huge map. There are several large landmasses but no one seems to end up on them. Is this normal? Should I just decrease the amount of sea cover for the game? (Don't want to do this but guess I could). For random maps what settings are considered normal?
Trying to work on my builder stratiges so having only six cites is a real burden.

I don't think that you are doing anything causing this other than your difficulty setting. If you don't want to change sea cover, then start digging - that is terraform up. There are probably other islands/landmasses in the neighborhood you can connect to, and with four rover formers working the same spot it doesn't take much time.

Playing on the map of planet, while you may know the make, at least calls for more strategy and realism. It is probably one of the best maps you can get for an average game. If you want something specifically for builders, though, you're gonna need something special.
I'm not good at searching for old threads, but I do remember some discussing changing the world builder. I tested the idea out, and from what I could tell, it make pretty decent maps. Not as good as those, say, on civ, or as the map of planet, but good enough...

Was trying to remember a couple of days ago but couldn't seem to find the thread thanks! And specilly thanks for the maps! Are these aranged by size at all?

Nice I have to say playing on the spartan chronicles map would be interesting, still haven't read through all of it. Thanks again.
