I wonder why my social libertarian score is always so far north (relative to apolyton standards)? Maybe because I almost never selected 'strongly agree' or 'strongly disagree' on any of the questions? Do most of the rest of you answer a lot of the questions with 'strongly' responses?
[edit] I retook the test and noticed that I never agreed with a response that infringed on peoples freedoms (ie I advocated non compuslory education and legalizing marijuana) however I also strongly disagreed with statements like 'our civil liberites are being eroded in the name of counter terrorism' and I think responses like that were driving my authoritarian score way up. Nothing else could account for it unless some questions with no apparent link to personal freedom of any kind were somehow included in the social liberty scoring.[/edit]
On the other test my results are as follows:
Individual vs Social
You scored 40 out of 100 on a scale of Individual vs Social. This means that politically you are neither more nor less likely to value the need for group actions and group benefit over individual enterprise and benefit.
* 17% of test takers were more individual than you.
* 82% of test takers were more social than you.
Theist vs Materialist
You scored 71 out of 100 on a scale of Theist vs Materialist. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that religion and spirituality are superstitions that should not inform political debate.
* 70% of test takers were more theist than you.
* 28% of test takers were more materialist than you.
Big Government vs Small Government
You scored 73 out of 100 on a scale of Big Government vs Small Government. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that government should keep out of legislating social policies, leaving such decisions to individuals.
* 83% of test takers were more big government than you.
* 16% of test takers were more small government than you.
Nationalist vs Internationalist
You scored 40 out of 100 on a scale of Nationalist vs Internationalist. This means that politically you are neither more nor less likely to favour international bodies over national ones.
* 16% of test takers were more nationalist than you.
* 83% of test takers were more internationalist than you.
Protectionist vs Free Trader
You scored 63 out of 100 on a scale of Protectionist vs Free Trader. This means that politically you are more likely to favour free trade over protectionist policies.
* 65% of test takers were more protectionist than you.
* 33% of test takers were more pro free trade than you.
Absolutist vs Non-Absolutist
You scored 38 out of 100 on a scale of Absolutist vs Non Absolutist. This means that politically you are more likely to believe that there is an absolute truth that may guide your ideological beliefs.
* 6% of test takers were more absolutist than you.
* 93% of test takers were more non-absolutist than you.
Controlled Market vs Liberal Market
You scored 47 out of 100 on a scale of Controlled Market vs Liberal Market. This means that politically you are neither more nor less likely to believe that there is need for government regulation of industry.
* 68% of test takers were more controlled market thinkers than you.
* 31% of test takers were more liberal market thinkers than you.
Marxist vs Non-Marxist
You scored 66 out of 100 on a scale of Marxist vs Non-Marxist. This means that politically you are less likely to follow the philosophies of Marx.
* 88% of test takers were more Marxist than you.
* 10% of test takers were more non-Marxist than you
hrmm I wonder if my centerline results in this one come from my answering neutral everytime I came across a question which I didn't like.

Economic Left/Right: 2.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 3.64
Woooah.. I usually am in the 5-7 range on both scales. Seems I've been turning meek during the holidays
Edit: Took the other quiz...
80% of test takers were more individual than you.
86% of test takers were more materialist than you.
97% of test takers were more small government than you.
92% of test takers were more internationalist than you.
66% of test takers were more pro free trade than you.
94% of test takers were more absolutist than you.
87% of test takers were more controlled market thinkers than you.
85% of test takers were more Marxist than you.
Overall, the PoliticsForum quiz considers you a socially-orientated, theist, big-government, nationalist, non-absolutist, liberal-market kind of person, who doesn't sound like a Marxist.
These characteristics would put you in the overall category of borderline nationalist. Your natural home at PoliticsForum would be the Nationalism area.

Look at my past scores.
They are all about the same, less than -1 for Libertarianism, and around +3, +4 for econ.
When I first came here, I used to be leftist on the econ side too, but always less than -1. That changed.
The reason for this is because they have questions that I can answer honestly on the left side. I believe gay people have natural gay desires, so I say yes to that question. Same with pornography. Just because I disapprove of something, doesn't mean it ought to be banned.
Secondly, I am a pacifist. The more questions on war, the further left I fall.
