I'm a bit disappointed in all of these random storylines being picked up and discarded. Behrooz and Terrorist Mom have apparently disappeared, along with Driscoll (who, admittedly, I never liked in the first place). Then there's the issue of the Secretary of Defence's son, who came to nothing. It feels like they're making it all up as they go along.

. Yes, the enemy was changed from American to French, but not because Americans would be offended, but because the main enemy in O'Brien's series of books (20+) are the French. It is about the Napoleonic Wars after all.
