	The games of 2005 Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

What games are you most excited about that is set to be released this year?

If you don't know which games are set to be released then there's is a nice list here


My number 1 is defently Dreamfall - The Longest Journey... TLJ was the only adventure game I finished twice, and this game seems to be more interesting to reply because there's 3 different endings
Not sure when this game is set to be released, but IIRC we wont see it before summer... though according to the above link it's set to be released today... but I don't really trust any of the release dates on gamespy or any of those game-sites

GTA - San Andreas is also a game I'm really excited about... if it's just as good as GTA 3 then it's great, though it seems to be much much more

I'm also looking forward to Fallout 3 even though there's not much info about it yet... I just hope it's at least as good as Fallout 2

Battlefield 2 looks great and I'm getting a bit excited it... I've only seen a few screenshots, but they look nice and I did like the gameplay in the first Battlefield game... though I believe my computer needs to get upgraded to be able to run it...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. sounds interesting too... finally an FPS game with lots of possibilities (a bit RPG'ish) and from the little I've read about it, it sounds like the AI is a little more advanced than in most FPS games

According to the mentioned link Duke Nukem Forever is set to be released early december... I'm looking forward to this game, though for some reason I just don't believe we'll see it this year either


I also noticed a few games on the list I've never heard about, but I'm already excited about them because I liked the other games in those series:
Carmageddon 4 - Always great for MP
Serious Sam 2 - Not much gameplay, but I defently like the humor
Speedball Arena - Who didn't like Speedball 2?

Many for me, this time around.

Civ4 - no comment needed, it's Civ, and so tops any game wishlist.
AoE3 - I'm a fan of the AoE series, and so this one deserves some attention. Looks like a good RTS game in AoE tradition.
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - From the looks of it, it's really going to be better than Morrowind, so I really want this game as well! Probably going to be good for 200 hours as well.
SWAT4 - not going to get it at once, but an interesting game nonetheless, SWAT3 was a good tactical shooter for SP, I expect SWAT4 to be the same.
Stargate:Alliance - the official game based on Stargate SG-1, so get it as fan of the show.
Doom3: Resurrection of Evil - Loved Doom3, would love to get more of the same, though the expansion might even be a bit more than the same.
STALKER - I am curious to see how it turns out, although I'm not sure if I will play it. But I'll definitely be interested in looking at the reviews.

But on a more serious note i'm caustiously optomistic about the news of people being hired to work on Elite4.

Elder scrolls 4, although it will most likely be many years before i have a system that will run it.

Jade Empire on the xbox is most likely the last game i'll buy for that system?

- dreamfall - the longest journey - i'll keep an eye on this game despite the fact that i haven't played the original

the movies - it could be an interesting tycoon game...

- dungeon siege II - well, i liked the first one, a very underestimated game in my opinion

-desperados 2 - cooper's revenge - mostly because i liked the first one

- fallout 3 - i don't need to explain, do i?

Come on, a game called Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse cannot be bad, can it?

those are the only games I know about that interest me so far... not many of the games I've seen mentioned here are blowing my skirt up.

Dungeon Siege was beautiful, nice sounds, etc., but still lacking IMO. It was completely linear, which is wrong for a RPG game. Also, the story was not more complex than in most shooters. RPGs are typically known for freedom and stories, though. DS was still a good game... but I could somehow never finish it.

Maybe I liked DS because I approached it without any expectations previously built up. I had read about it in some websites and everybody looked to be so disappointed, so I was not expecting a story-driven and deep RPG...

I wasn't disappointed either, in fact I had very little prior RPG experience. But I still got bored with it. It was a bit too much of mve into area, collect items, move into next area, collect items, repeat. Also, my party was generally very powerful, maybe that was the way I approached it... I just found something lacking to finish the game.

If you haven't played the first game, then what are you waiting for? I believe it's a good idea to have played the first game before playing Dreamfall, just to get to know the universe... I do believe they'll try to make the game so you can still get into the game, even though Dreamfall is the first game you've played, but there does seem to be lot of stuff in Deamfall that refers back to TLJ1

Forgot all about this one... yep, defently a game I look forward to, though I must admit there are some parts of the game I don't like (like having to make sure the stars don't get a drinking problem) and it seems like they've spent too much time on making sure you can see the movie on the computer later...

The thing is I don't want to see those movies because then I get even more excited about the game, and knowing that my current computer wont be able to run the game only makes it worse, so I prefer not see any movies about it

FO3 - if its even coming out this year

TES4 - not that I'll have a computer capable of playing it until maybe 2006.

CIV4 - I havent been following the development of it so I dont know if its even set to be released within our lifetime.

Hopefully those three will take up enough of my time to where I wont need to eat, sleep, or breath anymore.

Adrian Hon: I am also looking forward to Katamari Damacy 2. Shame they didn't publish the first game to the PAL market.

Otherwise I'm looking forward to Black & White II. I'll be interested to see if the gaming community embraces it after their apparent disappointment with the first game.
