Hey great job on the pod-pop!
But what are all these sensors for? Do we really need them now that we can insta-build the CDF? Or are they for mindworm-duty?

That's a good point - and there's a former already on that tile awaiting orders

For the sensor between VV and OA, would you want to use both formers to finish the sensor asap? Or is there no hurry, and could one former build a sensor, while the other moves south to build a road, allowing a few turns down the road the sensor-building former to move to the roaded square without wasting a movement point?

Another good point.

(And the reason for sensors is that they give interim protection (+25% defense) while we wait for the Gaians/Angels to do the Int Int deal - plus they also continue to give that +25% defense bonus after the CDF is built. So a synth (level 2) armor is equivalent to a silksteel armor (level 4) with the CDF and to a Photon Wall armor (level 5 armor) when the sensor bonus is added (of course, the multipliers are even more impressive when we actually have silksteel and photon wall armored units)

Do we need extra internal defenses so fast?

Or perhaps we can benefit from extra productivity to wage war with Morgan, not allowing them to mount efficient counteroffensive.

I think it's more against the Hive, in case they do have forces ready to attack us.

Deadline was nearing, so I had to finish up the turn. Full turn report in the turn report thread.

Googlie, do I remember correctly you don't have any guests staying between 25 January and 5 January? If so, could you play any turns in that period? Reason is I have exams until 11 Feb.

Suffering from ads?

Ugh, I just remembered something: I forgot to 'decline' the Morganite offer.

My current guest leaves on Sunday, I have a few days until the next batch arrive (Wednesday 26th ) and have at least 2 staying with me from then until February 14th. Then I'm blank until March 2nd.

The opportunity windows will be the same length whether I have 1 or more staying with me as I'll be off golfing almost every day, but until that March date I can do the turns as I have at least 2 guests with me and they can entertain each other so my prolongued absences while on-line won't be much of an issue. From early March, though, they are singles, which are much more demanding.

Which is a long-winded way of saying that, yes, I can take over turnplaying for the next few turns until after your exams are over.

Uh!
I downloaded the 2156 File but can't make anything with.
I've tried to extract it with my WinRar (which keeps on saying after 40 days I must register blah blah...) but then I can't open it.
Does someone know a quick and efficient (Spartan!) way to see that map?

Do you mean you can't succesfully unzip it, or can't SMAC open the file after having unzipped it?

Do you have Alien Crossfire, or only the basic game?

Anyway, in case the problem lies with WinRAR or Winzip, here's an unzipped 2156 endturn, so you can already have a look at the current turn.
