quote: You're foolish at best. Semprons have more cache and run at better speeds. They are basically Athlon XPs but better. Celerons are horrid. |
Semprons are about as good as Durons. Which is to say, worthless. I won't disagree with you on the horribleness of Celerons, though.
quote: No it is not. It can't be. Why? It isn't useful. Again Apple forgets what the word "useful" means. |
Do yourself a favor and divorce PPC from Apple in your mind. Please. Because PPC can be useful, and indeed, two of the next three consoles will be using the PPC platform, as well as several servers (including many that IBM makes). Furthermore, Genesi's Pegasos platform is also PPC-based, and has a lot of potential utility--most importantly, that of being a PPC workstation alternative to Apple. PPC is neither a bad nor a useless chip architecture.
quote: But there is a big damn problem here (pardon my harshness). Is the Mini Mac useful for the budget user? No it is not. Next case. |

I never said it was useful for the budget user. I also never said it was something I'd buy, and I also never said I liked it on an individual basis. Hell, since you obviously don't remember, I've consistently been the one railing against non-expandable/upgradable computing machines, with a particular antipathy towards all-in-one boxes. If you read my comments again, you'll see that I mention only one situation in which the Mac Mini might be useful, and I myself state that I'm unconvinced at hits utility because of its price/performance ratio.
Dude, you're arguing against me, when, quite frankly, we're pretty much on the same side... Oi, Fez, you're almost as bad as Mr Nice Guy. At least you don't rant non-sensically about God, and I thank Him that you aren't a Mac fanboi, too.

Apparently somebody doesn't read reviews.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Anything not AMD based is crap for me. No disputes about that. I will not change my mind.

That's true, but it's not because of managerial blunders as asserted by Asher.

Yes, Intel has made some stumbles recently, but... odds are, they'll be a healthy company for a good long while. Ie, if they were a person, unlike AMD, Intel isn't living from paycheck to paycheck. |
Yup, Intel has massive reserves so it could afford to make mistakes, I am not disputing that, either.
