Ned, we've gone over Fox's fair and balanced reporting on many occations and in thread after thread their bias and distortions have been proven. As for Fox having as many liberals as conservatives; we have gone over that as well. Having Gerta the liberal stuck talking about a single court case for two weeks in a nonprime time slot doesn't make up for Bill O'Reilly getting hours and hours of prime time. Agreed, O'Reilly does have the best time slot and does dominate FOX News. But on Hannity and Colmes, you have both a conservative and a liberal host, and the show always has a even mix of Democrat and Republican guests. Also, Chris Wallace, FOX's prime political guy, is obviously a liberal.

What's makes the left so mad about FOX is that no other network, probably anywhere in the world, has any openly conservative commentators. None. Everyone else, on all networks, everywhere, is a liberal. Everyone.

We caqn discuss your belief that every other network in the world is filled with screaming communists but to deal with the issue of Fox News I'd like to take issue of them having both Republican and Democratic guests of equal standing.

I, and many others, have noticed Fox will put on a main stream Republican guest and then they will have the most wacked out extremist they can find and then Fox claims they represent the Democrats. I can recall one show in the run up to the election where they claimed the "liberals" were represented by the spokesman for the American Communist Party! I don't think any honest person could claim the Communist Party represents the Democrats or John Kerry yet there was Fox News attempting to do just that.

This is not an isolated case either. All to often Fox will attempt to paint non-rightists as wack jobs by refusing to run moderates or centrists and instead run extremists which do not represent that party's platform or the main stream of the party. Basically, Fox constructs strawmen.

BTW MSNBC has a notable ex-Fox conservative commentator. I'm positive there are plenty of other conservatives out there in positions of authority though I'm to lazy to look them up. Would somebody else like to disabuse Ned of his notion that no other network other then Fox has any conservatives?

Oerdin, agreed, MSNBC has Scarborough. He is a Republican.

As to FOX, O'Reilly always has the wacko left on because what they are trying to do is usually totally bizzare.

Nevermind... look, the bits of behaviour I don't like about Israel are;-

1) Torturing of detainees.
2) Use of assassination.
3) Bulldozing of homes, sometimes with people still in them. It's not nice being homeless.
4) House arrest and gagging of political dissidents.
5) Complete lack of interest in being held responsible for their actions.

I've got problems with people who use these kind of solutions, whether Jewish, Hottentot or atheist.

I have listed a few possibilities for the US' lack of taking the blame for Israels crimes against humanity;-

A) Moral indifference - "Hey, they do some bad things but the ends justify the means".

B) Moral stupidity - "They only do bad things to Arabs so that's fine by us".

C) Moral ignorance - "Crimes? What crimes? They just have some odd hobbies..."

D) Moral Cowardice - "We know they do bad things but we're really scared of being thought anti-semitic so we just play dumb".

I think the first is the most likely and the last the least likely, although I suspect in your case this might have to be reversed.
